And bonus, no drill holes in the walls. Beautifully sanded wood, no splinters or misdirected screw holes. Good directions. Easy to assemble with the included allen wrench (the only tool you need). Heavy duty canvas supported by two wooden dowels (not one inch of plastic in this product, yay!). Bought this one because at 17 inches wide it fit the 18 inch window I wanted it to go in. Easy installation. Just don't lose any of the screws or washers because there aren't any extras included. Monty, the Tuxedo started jumping into this window a short time ago, but the windowsill is not wide enough for a comfortable experience. The bottom of the window is almost 4 feet off the ground, so the scratching of the back nails to haul himself up was becoming an issue. He tried to jump into this perch while I was installing it! Little Finnegan, who is only about 7 months old, doesn't get to use it as often, but it does hold both of them, no wobbles, no problems. I have the window seats that hang from the windows from suction cups, but the frames are plastic and easily come undone and when it is really cold out the suction cups give up the ghost and the whole thing falls off the windows. They loved those but haven't used them since getting this window seat. I will probably be buying more. Review: Great perch for cats, wish it worked for me - Very easy to assemble and mount, took maybe 10 minutes. Nice quality construction too. But, when I hung it on my window the bottom piece of trim on the window (apparently called a "stool") was bending a lot with just me pushing down on it. Even though our cat is smaller (10 lbs) I felt that it might not hold her without the trim strip breaking. The trim strip is pine and pretty minimal, like 1"x1" square profile. I think if the stool was an inch deeper or made of oak it would have been fine. Rather than re-engineer something (add backing strip to trim or drive some more nails) I decided to return this and get a free-standing low perch to put on the floor in front of the window instead. ## Features - MewooFun Cat Lounge Window Perch:This is our newest Lounge-style cat hanging bed with wide beveled armrests designed to provide a relaxing lazy bed for cats . The window will not open or shut when it's installed, so we just pull down the window as far as it will go without latching and leave it. But, it still works for us, because we just take the seat down at night when we need to close the window. **Q: does the window need to be closed to use this? I am looking for something removable that can use when the window is open so he can get some fresh air** A: If the window sill fits the hooks that’s all you need. It doesn’t matter if the window is closed or open. **Q: What is the depth of the metal window hook?** A: 1” to the very front edge. And 2.75” to the back of the front dowel. **Q: Can you put this outside?** A: You would have to have that window sill lip on the outside for the device to sit on. It sits in the track of the window sill.. So maybe πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is perfect! *by M***R on February 9, 2023* This is so well made. No messy or unstable suction cups *by O***A on March 29, 2025* Sturdy and easy to install. You must measure your window because some long baseboards may not work. Not good for a car install.
