Google coffee prop 65. This is a blanket warning required by the state of California. The chemical they are "warning" about is acrylamide, not lead. It naturally occurs in some foods when cooked at high temperatures, coffee being one. You can go on google scholar and see case studies on it. The chemical is not well researched yet, but in 2010 the nonprofit Council for Education and Research on Toxics filed a lawsuit against a handful of coffee companies and now they require the warning on coffee products. You can research and draw your own conclusions, but its not lead, nor the soil etc. Personally I love adding this to my already high caff morning coffee so clearly it doesn't bother me. I am a daily 2 cups of coffee drinker and I notice a big difference in my overall “balance” when I use this in my second cup of coffee.
