We bought a couple of parakeets. Unfortunately the birds could get through the bars and then would get trapped in between the cage and mesh. Make sure you get a bird bigger than parakeets. Never noticed them with the nails getting caught in. **Q: It says not recommend for large or X-Large cages but I see pictures of those with this net? Will it fit or not?** A: My cage is 20"x30". The net would fit a somewhat larger cage. I did not experience any difference in the amount of seeds the birds threw out. It was not visually pleasing.
