LEXIVON 9/16-Inch Spark Plug Swivel Socket, 3/8" Drive x 6" Total Length | Enhanced Magnetic Design with Thin Wall Socket, Cr-v Steel (LX-SSPS9166)

I just used this to change the spark plugs in a 2019 2.7L Ecoboost in my Ford F-150. This Lexivon 5/8" Swivel Magnetic Spark Plug socket performed flawlessly. The magnet held the plugs perfectly ( on removal & install ). This socket made a difficult, to say the least, job feasible. Envision lying on the engine to reach plugs 3 & 6 while disconnecting multiple electrical connectors and vacuum tubes just to access the coil on plugs - Ford, you can do better with the design!! But, back to the review, this socket is well engineered & well made and is worth it even if you only use it once. A great tool.

It’s a pretty good spark socket, much better than harbor freight and every hardware store sockets. It’s deep, magnetic, swivel, and it’s affordable. I’ve only worked on JDM cars with this and it’s held up after many many uses. I have not used this with the newer cars 2020-2026, only 1999-2017. It’s been able to take seized sparks from rusted out engines, with minimal wear on the teeth of the socket.

Works fantastic the 360° pivoting socket makes the job much easier

I purchased this magnetic spark plug socket in September of 2025. It has had lots of use and I feel the quality is excellent and the cost is less then most automotive name brand associated tool companies. Why waste you money on other tools with a name, when you can purchase the Lexivon brand with a lifetime warranty, great finish, and high quality. This is a real time saver and the magnet is just the right strength for removing and setting the plugs.

This spark plug socket worked perfectly when R&R-ing the plugs and coils on a 2001 Ford F-150 4.6L. Much better than the klunky combinations of extensions, universal joints, and rubber plug-grabber spark plug sockets I used in the past. One observation: the job also requires a 7 mm socket to handle the little bolt that holds the coils in place. This magnetic spark plug socket ingested the 7 mm socket, was baffled as to what happened to the 7 mm until trying to remove the next plug. Plug socket would not fit on the plug, because the 7mm socket was neatly tucked inside the magnetic spark plug socket 8-). Good tool, well made, recommended.

Good tool. I added a drop of light oil before first use but only because I'm over-the-top with how my tools feel when in use. Very good value overall.

This magnetic spark plug socket with the swivel was a great help changing the plugs on my Tundra 5.7L V8. I got the 6" total length tool which is perfect - the swivel helps wiggle the socket into her dark tunnels easily, and the magnet is pretty virile and holds the plug in securely which makes it easy to get it aligned before screwing in. If extra length is needed to reach the goal you can always add on an extension. Overall fit and finish of the tool is great, no complaints at all.

Nicely made and with the angled swivel helps for some tight areas. The magnetic bit works well and you can be confident that you will not drop your spark plugs.

For me as a hobby technician it fulfills all my demands and it is a great tool with good quality and lot of value for the money.

It's a very nice tool with 6 inches long total, packaging looks great, well designed and wrapped. Comes with a 90 days limited warranty once registered. I guess now I'll have to try it on and see if I can get my sparks plug out today. If I don't edit my review today it means the tool performed very well and the magnetic holds well.
