Slight learning curve but was well worth it, recovered data from old drives with little issues

Well made and easy to use. Just what I needed to clone my hard drive.

I had 2 old SATA HD's with tons of pictures, but both the laptops were broken. I ordered this to recover all my videos and photos onto a new Windows 11 laptop. First I tried with USB but the Win 11 laptop would not recognize the USB device. I decided to try the USB-C adapter that came with the hard drive reader. I was able to get into one of the hard drives, but when I tried the second hd I got the "not recognized" error again. Windows update was up to date, but there seems to be driver issue. I connected the hard drive reader to my MAC and both hard drives were immediately recognized. I was able to transfer all my files. I did a little research and it seems a lot of people that have the issue that the PC doesn't recognize the USB device are on Windows 11.

This is very handy for me to connect drives to my PC without needing to open the case and install them. It worked well with no problems.

Crashes constantly. Slow speed, even with modern sata disk drives. Above all it doesn't even work with ide drives. I debugged it to not having enough power to spin them up properly. Unbelievable.
