Claptone - Fender Inside! - Clapton Mid-boost Guitar Pedal

Finally found a pedal with the tone/boost I wanted. All my other pedals are either "too much" or "too little". This one fills the gap and does a great job. Think of it as buying a Clapton Stratocaster and saving $1,500.00. Tone controls are the same as the guitar. Workmanship is simply outstanding. The LED power on light is a real over achiever. There's no question whether the pedal is on or off...that little guy is super bright. The Clap Tone is a great match with all three of my Stratocasters, especially with the perpetually thin sounding '57 reissue. I'm even going to try it on a Telecaster and see what I can come up with. Outstanding job Cara guitars!!!!

There have been questions about why the pedal only runs on battery. The answer is that the board was installed inside Eric's guitars which of course had no power supply, and just ran off of a fresh DC battery. So, the board had no noise elimination that would remove the hum from a transformer. I could build in some noise rejection, or spec out a high-end Roland power supply that has excellent Noise Reduction, but most people would opt for a bargain supply that would just make the ClapTone sound unhealthy. I also think that the AC power supply would take away some of the natural sounding tones that the board gets when it draws on the battery, and it may add some high end. The battery should last a hundred hours or more if you unplug the input jack.

This pedal is the bomb for bringing your strat into a humbucking beast! I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to beef up their single coil strat tone. Cool design and easy to use pedal. Only downside is that it only runs on battery power, no separate 9 volt power jack. But that small problem aside, the pedal is very awesome!

Great piece of gear. You can hear the difference, no doubt. Turn those knobs and find 'your sound', or EC's.. Rock solid construction and it will snap a Tele to attention too~
