A: No adhesive is required. There's a rubber strip in the saddle clamp that seals the hole.

**Q: Will this work on 1-7/8" od --- 1-1/2" id plastic pipe?**
A: This is for 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 pipe which are 1.66 and 1.9 inch od.

**Q: Will this fit over schedule 40 pvc?**
A: This product fits over 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 pipe regardless of schedule/wall thickness.

**Q: Will this work on 1.5" black abs pipe?**
A: Yes but it may be difficult piercing the hole. If you can measure the diameter of the piercing portion, you can use a drill that size to make a hole in the pipe first.

So should have known better, but lesson is do NOT overtighten plastic connectors/fittings! Cracked my original one of these after cleaning out r/o rejection drain that got gooped up from sink drain grease and nastiness, and this was a perfect fit and replacement! Have been buying various APEC products off Amazon and very satisfied with all of them, including R/O tank, R/O system valve, and this. Will continue to buy APEC products!
