EISCO Rock Cycle Kit - 12 Pieces - Metamorphic, Igneous & Sedimentary Rocks - 1" Specimens - Geology Activity for Ages 8+

My first box was missing 2 rocks but the seller sent a replacement box very fast, in just two days and I was ready to show the kids in my classroom (5 year olds) this nice rock collection consisting the three types of rocks (Igneous, Metamorphic and Sedimentary). These are unpolished rocks which is better - so children know what to look for in their neighborhoods or while traveling. Size of rocks varies and I found they liked the bigger rocks best that fit into the palm of their hands. It includes a nice brochure describing the rock cycle too along with pictures of each rock in the set. I've ordered other rock sets but this one was perfect for identifying the rocks and for further exploration by the children as part of the subject of science.

My son got it as a gift for his 6yo birthday! Couldn't imagine better gift for him! hours of sorting and identifying!

Great learning tool for the Rock Cycle

Missing a specimen and rocks all came jumbled up. Difficult to identify, especially for a child, and I don’t have confidence that these rocks are actually what is shown on the brochure. Box is also labeled with a “Cancer and Reproductive Harm” warning which seems highly inappropriate for something labeled for children.

La lámina está bien elaborada, resulta atractiva y motiva a seguir indagando sobre el tema. Presenta de forma clara los tres tipos principales de rocas según su origen: ígneas, sedimentarias y metamórficas. Se destaca que cada roca es completamente diferente y única, lo cual enriquece el contenido. Aunque puede resultar un poco dudoso que todas las rocas tengan brillo, ya que parecen tener un brillo artificial, en general, la calidad del material es muy buena.

My kid is a rock hound, this fit the budget and was a great starter kit.

I was surprised that none of the rocks in the box were individually identified, it was just a box of rocks! There was no information in, or on the box about which rocks were inside and there was no info sheet about the rock cycle as promised. In order to work out what I was looking at I just had to trust that the list of rocks in the Amazon ad was correct so I Googled each one...then realised that the list had incorrectly classified eight of the rocks in the wrong category (igneous/sedimentary). Nice rocks, but not a reliable teaching tool!
