The unit automatically emits an ultrasonic tone that can be heard by dogs but is silent to most humans. Startled by the high-pitched tone, the dog should stop barking. Wenn man das Gerät (bzw. die 2 Geräte) in den Händen hält, fällt erstmal auf wie klein das Teil ist (ca 5cm hoch). Es ist weiterhin sehr leicht und wirkt nicht gerade qualitativ hochwertig. Immerhin sind Batterien dabei. Zur Wirkung kann ich nur sagen, null komma null. Unser Hund nimmt jedes Geräusch war und ist da wirklich sensitiv, aber er hat weder den Kopf gehoben noch überhaupt die Ohren angestellt, d.h. er hat schlicht nichts wahrgenommen. Auch bei dem anderen Gerät verhielt es sich so. In der Bedienungsanleitung steht, dass wenn das Gerät ein Bellen registriert, die rote LED aufleuchtet und der US Ton generiert wird. Wer sich eine halbwegs intelligente Erkennung erhofft hat, der wird leider enttäuscht. Es handelt sich schlicht um einen Geräuschsensor, welcher ab einem bestimmten Dezibel Schwellwert, den Tongenerator sowie die rote LED triggert. Zum Ausprobieren reicht also einfach pusten in Richtung Mikrofon. Weder der Trockentest durch Pusten noch tatsächliches Bellen haben das Gerät dazu bringen können einen Ton zu erzeugen, der überhaupt von unserem Wölfchen wahrgenommen werden konnte. Die rote LED hatte jedes mal geleuchtet wohl gemerkt. Dafür knapp 40€ zu verlangen ist absolut lächerlich, zumal sich die Teile im niedrigen euro Bereich bewegen und es obendrein nicht funktioniert. Ich wollte die Geräte eigentlich zurückschicken, leider ist die Verarbeitung so minderwertig, dass beim wirklich sehr vorsichtigen entfernen der Batterien ein Plastikteil abgebrochen ist. Ich kaufe sonst nichts gegen besseren Gefühls aufgrund von ohnehin schon schlechten Rezensionen. Leider gibt es nichts vergleichbares, welches ohne ein Halsband auskommt, deswegen hatte ich es eben doch gekauft. Leider ein kompletter Reinfall, wenn man bedenkt, dass ich nun nicht einmal mehr zurück senden kann. Daher keine Kaufempfehlung und ebenfalls rate ich dringend ab es zu Testzwecken zu kaufen.
