**Update since initial review: Still no regrets! We absolutely don’t know why didn’t buy this years ago. I just completed my first disassembled deep cleaning of the litter robot and it could not have been simpler. I got the dawn dish soap and the garden hose disassembled and cleaned per the Wiskers youtube instructions and cleaning went off without a hitch! 10 minutes is all it took. Now leaving it outside to dry in the windy shade just to avoid the possibility of warping. If your still on the fence about it, you should not be. One Tip: So I know what you’re thinking when you look at the price tag of a product such as this, but imagine how much time you spend cleaning your cats litter box especially if you have multiple cats/boxes? We have had this product for about three days now and I must say it is a total pet owning game changer! As a germophobic, cleaning the litter box is a disgusting chore!! One that I was willing to spend hours of training to teach them to use the toilet for. But upon further research that isn’t so great for your plumbing. Meh! But then I came upon this litter robot and thought if it can eliminate my germ anxiety as a mom with two kids in sports during a pandemic. I’m down to try! So I bought the whole kit plus new litter (Boxie) as my previous litter (feline pine mixed with naturally fresh walnut based) was not quick clumping and wood based neither which were compatible. The mat is durable and catches any stray litter tapped on the paws, the steps catch a bit more than other reviews lead on but that also led me to buy the Boxie which is quick clumping and low tracking. The steps easily detach and I simply pour the litter that is outside back in the dome. The app works well and connected just fine. I did quick switch them with no transition but they use it just as much as the other one. And I haven’t touched the scooper since. The thing even levels the litter back out. With the litter box being clean every time they go in I find they fling less litter by trying to bury it. This product is a definite must buy!!!

This product is expensive, but if you're like me, and tired of scooping cat litter every day, it's well worth it. I've had mine for a year and a half now. The cat never had any issues adjusting- I just replaced his old litter box with the robot, and he started using it immediately. The box that holds the droppings fills up somewhat quickly- I usually replace the lining once a week, but replacing the lining takes about 5 minutes, so that's a million times easier than trying to scoop through every bit of litter every day, plus it uses way less cat litter than a regular box. Overall, the product has been exceptionally reliable. The only real issue I had was when the blue light at the bottom would continuously blink every time the cat would use it. The blinking light indicates the drawer is full, but I had just put in a new lining. I easily found some videos online about troubleshooting recommendations for people who had had the same issue, but after going through them, the issue wasn't resolved. I called the company and they had great customer service. I was walked through even more troubleshooting (such as cleaning the sensors with rubbing alcohol), and it resolved the issue. I can't recommend this enough for cat owners that can afford it, and are tired of having to scoop litter every day.

We would go on trips for multiple days , but we needed to do something about our cat. He was fine on his own in a regular litter box and food container. But, when we would be gone for up to a week, we had to board the cat. And that got expensive. So, we ordered this automatic litter box and WOW were we happy with the results. It is connected to WiFi using the Whisker App. When our cat , and he is a big boy, walks into the opening the sensor lets us know he has entered. After he finishes using the box with litter inside and walks out, the sensor notices he is out and after minute or so it starts to do its job. The unit starts to rotates it moves the litter to one side to let the litter drop to a spot below. Then it rotates back as it drops the left over poop/pee to a bin on the bottom where bag is waiting. Then the unit rotates back and drops the litter back into the unit. Then the unit send you a message to the app that the process is complete. Also, on the app, you can see what percentage of the box is full. We have been able to leave our cat, with an automatic feeder and lots of water, for periods of up to a week at a time . I FULLY recommend it for anyone who does not want to empty a litter box every day or multiple times / day. Also there is NO order from the unit. It's very worth the money.

Okay, when I finally committed to buying the Litter Robot 3, I checked all the reviews and even had a friend recommend this product. It’s a lot of money to spend to handle cat “stuff”. A real lot of money. Here’s the thing, it actually works. It makes a miserable job less time consuming and does a great job handling the odors. I found that the bags that Whiskers provide seem a bit wasteful but there are other bags on Amazon that work perfectly. Just make sure that the device doesn’t end up touching any walls or cabinets (etc). That throws off the sensing circuits. I am very please with how this works and would suggest it for anyone that wants to scoop litter boxes less. Just change the bag and you’re golden. An occasional thorough cleaning is suggested but you would have to do that with any litter box. The most important part, the cats really like it. No “accidents” since I’ve started using the Litter Robot 3.

Do NOT purchase a Litter Robot 3, major technical issues since I bought it. Now Sitting in garage as back up only since it gets stuck during rotation and back to scooping! Tried Chat , phone calls, email tech support & nothing resolved the issue and now out of one year warranty. Sucks to have paid $699 for crap!

While the initial cost might be a deterrent for some, the long-term benefits easily outweigh it. Say goodbye to the hassle of daily smelly scooping and hello to a cleaner, healthier, and happier home for you and your feline companions.

It does what it says most of the time. It’s better than a litter box and it should be for the price. Problems: it freezes up, Like many computers. Sometimes it is the safety features that stop it. But if you thought you could leave for a long weekend: you are risking it. It stops emptying, fills up, and the cats poop on the floor. I’ve put mine on a smart plug that I turn off once daily while I’m away to hopefully unfreeze it. I think that works sometimes. It stinks: if you don’t empty it, there is still waste in the drawer. You won’t be scooping, but you need to empty it frequently. You need to deep clean it once a month or do and it’s a mess. I never got the app to work My house sitter can’t figure it out. It’s not really intuitive. Maybe the new model has this all figured out.

One of my family members got the Litter Robot and was singing its praises to me. I have two cats and I finally decided to try. I have only had the Litter Robot for 6 days and both of my two cats have acclimated and on day 5 I was comfortably able to dispose of the old litter box. As the person who always had to clean the litter box, having the Litter Robot is like a miracle. So far, it has performed exactly like it claimed that it would. Highly recommend if you have cats and hate their litter box as much as they probably do. Clean litter all of the time, no smell, and the first bag lasted for 4 days before the app notified me that it was full. And I have two sizable male cats. I know it's pricey, but I'm not sorry that I went for it.
