Sauder Homeplus 23'' Storage Cabinet Cupboard in White

I'll start off by saying that this is my 2nd & 3rd purchase of this cabinet. Living in a home built in the 1800's, we lack storage! The first one was purchased two years ago and used as a linen closet for my bathroom. After renovating our pantry this past week, I purchased two more of these to put side by side. This gives me lots of storage! I can tell you the instructions improved immensely on these since my first purchase. Very clear and easy to follow this time around. Even the nails/screws/pieces were clearly labeled.Here are my pro's and cons:Pro's-Instructions were very clear and the unit was surprisingly easy to put together (except for the doors - you'll need a 2nd set of hands to align the hinges). But being a tiny woman, I managed to put these together in no-time.-The hinges on the door do allow you to adjust the doors both horizontally and vertically in case they don't look even. The first cabinet had a big gap between the doors when I first installed them. The second cabinet, the right door fell a little lower than the left. Adjusting fixed it a bit.-You can easily adjust the feet in case your floor is slightly uneven to adjust the unit. I put two next to each other and this feature came in very handy.-Shelves are deep and adjustable.-Looks modern and cleanCons:-The door handles on one of the units are not even. Meaning, the holes were drilled slightly off. Nothing I can do about that one. Hardly noticeable, but I see it....-As great as this unit is, the back of it is severely lacking in quality. It's literally a piece of cardboard backing (not even particle board). How is this possible??-The doors close SUPER loudly. Maybe i'm just used to my soft close kitchen cabinets. I purchased cabinet bumpers to help with this. It made a difference.-While the shelves themselves are sturdy, they are made of particle board. I made the mistake in my bathroom cabinet of storing some liquid soap bottles in there and my iron. BIG mistake. I had a leak and the shelf bubbled and warped. Just a heads up to use contact paper or liners if you plan to store anything with a liquid.Overall, I am very happy with how these came out. They serve the purpose, look great, and didn't cause me to lose my mind when installing. These are worth the purchase!

I purchased two of these cabinets to stand side by side in my mud room to hold kitchen appliances, closet type items and pantry items. It fits the bill and looks nice and clean in my mud room where before it was an open shelved mess. They are sturdy and wee easy to assemble. Highly recommend!

This cabinet is great for our kitchen storage since we don’t have a pantry. We needed to replace an old cabinet and this one was the perfect size. Materials were good quality and directions were simple enough for me to set it up solo.

I needed a cabinet to serve as a kitchen pantry. I found two products that seemed suitable, this one (Sauder HomePlus Storage Cabinet, Soft White finish), and another Sauder product (Sauder Storage Cabinet, Soft White finish, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0QM2O7/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1). I picked the one I did for two reasons - (1) the size of this one was better suited to my needs, and (2) customer reviews on the other one were mixed, comments such as "NOT HEAVY DUTY like most Sauder". Since I expect high traffic for my cabinet, better built was more desirable. That is relevant to my review.The Amazon review templates asks four questions:1 - Storage capacity. It is what it is. The webpage includes the cabinet dimensions, so you know precisely what you are getting. Measure the intended location and your storage needs, and buy accordingly. So, I gave it 5 stars.2 - Ease of assembly. Compared to other knockdown or ready-to-assemble furniture, it was typical, perhaps easier than most. The company supplies the hardware in a blister pack that keeps items separated and easy to find, clever and convenient. So, no complaints. I gave it 4 stars for its basic assembly, but took away a star because it necessitated some repair or extra activity that should not have been necessary.3 - Sturdiness. Not so much. This is where I found the irony in the other reviews, because if this is relatively sturdy, I would hate to see the other cabinet I did not get. It feels flimsy. Compared to other KD furniture, one of the reasons it is easier to assemble than many is that it has fewer rigid fasteners and fixation points. As long as the cabinet just sits in some quiet place and is not expected to be moved or used much, no problem. But here is what I found problematic. The doors are on hinges. They are standard hinges, easy to adjust, but every time I adjusted them, the doors seemed to drift within a day, necessitating another adjustment. I realized by the third day that the problem was not the hinges, but the doors themselves. Each door has a frame of four pieces of wood joined at 45 degree miter joints. Those joints are not glued or not "something" whatever the fastener was supposed to be. The doors kept creaking farther and farther into a rhomboid shape, the side edges suspended on the hinges, the center edges continually drooping so that the bottom center corner kept hitting the cabinet base until no further adjustments were possible. I then glued those miter joints after truing up the shape, and now all is good. But, that should not be necessary - that is not part of the normal KD user assembly experience - the factory did not do its diligence or duty. It is typical of the overall sense of flimsiness to this product. So, 3 stars for sturdiness.4 - Overall rating. I give it 3 stars. It is nothing special as KD furniture goes, nothing terribly bad, but nothing terribly admirable for the company to be proud of. My main beef is the cost. I paid $175, and for that price, I assumed that the quality would be better. That price is not inherently unreasonable, but compared to other KD furniture of comparable size, it seems excessive. The other product I did not choose was bigger, and I cannot believe it was any flimsier, and that was only $140. I have bought plenty of KD cabinets, and for what I got, a more realistic price might have been $ 90 - 120.Two things I did like. (1) Each foot can be adjusted for height, so it can be leveled precisely for your floor, and, as I always do, it allows the cabinet to be easily tipped back so it leans toward the wall a degree or two, making it more stable. (2) The shelf supports are durable metal pins that will not wear and break, and they include little silicone covers over the pins to cushion the shelves and avoid any rattling.Overall, if you need a cheap cabinet of this size and do not mind spending a bit more than than you think it should because it is the correct size, then this is not a bad deal. But, be prepared to do a bit of handiwork on it.

I bought this storage cabinet to put in my bedroom. I am typically not good at putting things together, but after reading the directions I attempted it. I reported a piece was missing and found out later it was there the whole time. But they did send the screws right away. (Sorry Sauder). The directions were pretty clear and I was able to put it together alone except for a little muscle to put it in place. Everything aligned up and It looks very good. I love it.
