GMO= "Genetically Modified Organism" A company calling an inorganic substance that is or derived from a mineral seems dubious to me and most likely cashing in on the Organic market. The questions to ask are: what is the source? What processing method is used. The Solvay method: Although this method of producing baking soda ash is widely used, it is also problematic because the chemicals used in the process are pollutants and cause disposal problems. Use it for a variety of things

I use the baking soda for cooking, but also to make toothpaste and deodorant. It's as pure a product as I could find. No aluminum in it. I use a different baking soda for cleaning and save this for food and personal hygiene.
