Best Sonic style ice machine I’ve ever owned! Updated!
Update 7/9/26: This amazing ice maker malfunctioned. 😢 I contacted the manufacturer, sent them some information, pictures and a video. In 24 hours, they emailed me that my new ice maker is on the way! Customer service is excellent with such fast turnaround! When I originally bought this ice maker, it had 10 reviews on Amazon. Now with over 24,000 reviews and a high rating, you can buy this ice maker with confidence! I still stand by my original 5 star review! Absolutely the best ice maker I’ve ever purchased! I’m so pleased with this ice maker, and I have owned several different brands before it. We need the sonic style ice at our house. My last ice maker that made this type of ice did not last a year. I always kept it clean and did the descaling and everything else that was required. I have videos of how loud my previous ice machine was and it was difficult to clean, although it was highly rated on Amazon. There were very few reviews on this ice maker, but it seemed like such a logical piece of equipment to me, that I took a chance and I’m glad I did! It’s virtually silent, well worth what I paid for it even though I got it on sale and looks great in the kitchen. The ice may be a tiny bit bigger than sonic style ice but it still has the same soft and crunchy center as the ice I’ve bought at a Sonic Drive-In. The ice maker is a nice size and fits well, even in a smaller kitchen. The amount of ice it produces is great and the ice lasts for several days in the ice maker. Love the self-cleaning feature as well as it’s always cleaning in the background when it’s not making ice. It recycles the unused water through the machine so the ice tastes fresh and clean. The manufacturer suggests that you clean out the water portion of the machine every three days, which is so simple. Ice and water are stacked together on the right side of the machine, so all you have to do is lift this section off of the machine and you can run water through it or wash it with soapy water, whichever is applicable. I have not run the descaling cleaner portion yet, but I will at least once a month. I’ve had the machine about three weeks now and I could not be happier. It is everything I wanted and more. As I’ve have not had it that long, if the machine starts functioning poorly, I will come back and update this review. If you’re looking for a great ice machine, buy this one!

Works for us
Works well for what it is. We sold our house with built in everything and temporarily renting . No ice maker here in fridge so we got this. It does the job yes. As long as you realize a couple things: 1. It makes quick ice but the ice is hollow and not very dense. Not a deal breaker cause its better than no ice. 2. This is an entry level machine. It makes ice dropped into a basket. It does not keep that ice frozen. So that ice will melt especially I. a warm room. My solution is I have a plastic bin in the freezer as ice gets made I transfer that ice asap as its made into the bin in the freezer. (I only make ice on my days off and only once or twice a week. No biggy cause I home. and doing housework anyway)...so when I hear the ice drop into its basket I go over and transfer it right away. This occurs several times mind you but I don't mind. Is it ideal? No, but it is better than having old fashioned ice cube trays filled etc. 3. Ice made and placed in freezer bin will stick together at first as it freezes more solid. I just bang on it once with a little (clean) toy hammer and its done. Won't stick again until you add more wet ice. Again not a problem if you expect it. 4. If you choose you can just leave it on all day and night during intended use. It will just make and melt and remake more ice all day but...while thats fine if your constantly using it know that the machine will stop producing ice when the basket gets full. As you take some it will remake more. I personally want more ice in my freezer and waisting electric is not for me ...so that's my deal. You decide. 5. For the price its great. There are many better ice makers available that keep ice frozen and have bigger reserve. But youre gonna pay a lot more. So consider what is it that matters to you. For just one or two people in a house, this works just fine and for very little money.

Ice For Days
It’s a really good product, easily put together. I was able to put it tighter without the instructions it’s really simple. I put it tighter plugged it in and it was working. The ice took 10 mins to be at full capacity and still has water for about 3 full loads before a refill. Really good product and worth the price compared to the other that was 400.00 or more.

Reliable and compact ice maker – still going strong after a year!
🗓️ Length of Ownership: I’ve had this ice maker for almost a year now, and I’m genuinely impressed by how well it’s held up. I wasn’t expecting it to last this long for the price, but it’s been a great investment, especially during the summer. ❄️ Performance: We keep the machine running constantly in the warmer months, and it consistently provides fresh ice throughout the day. You can choose between small or large ice cubes—though even the “large” ones aren’t huge, they’re a perfect size for our drinks. As long as the bin isn’t full, the machine keeps producing ice reliably without any issues. 🧼 Maintenance: Taking care of this machine has been very simple. About once every two weeks, I wipe it down with vinegar and warm water—mainly the inside compartment and the removable basket. That’s really all it takes to keep it clean and running smoothly. It’s not complicated at all and only takes a few minutes. 🔊 Noise Level: The noise level is surprisingly reasonable. It’s not silent, but it’s definitely not loud enough to be annoying. We usually have it running in the background, and it doesn’t bother us at all. 👨👩👧 Usage & Capacity: It’s just my husband and me using it, and it easily covers our daily needs—typically 6 to 8 drinks a day in the summer. If you have a larger family or entertain often, you might want something with a higher capacity, but for us, this size is just right. ✅ Pros: Still working great after nearly a year Compact and stylish design Option to choose between small and large cubes Reasonably quiet operation Very easy to clean and maintain Perfect for small households or couples ❌ Cons: Ice output might not be enough for large families “Large” cube size is still relatively small (just FYI) 💬 Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a reliable countertop ice maker that doesn’t take up much space and delivers consistent performance, this one is a great choice. It’s easy to use, easy to maintain, and perfect for keeping your drinks cold all summer long. We’re very happy with it and would definitely buy it again.

Best investment For Ice Lovers Everywhere!!!!
I'm huge on ice. An ice fanatic, if you will. Big fan. HUGE fan of ice. And yes, I have a history of iron deficiency, but even when my iron levels are on point, I just love ice. Any time of year. I bundle up in the winter and lay on heating pads so that I can have ice to my heart's content without perishing of hypothermia. I used to keep a list on my phone of the restaurants with the best ice, or the gas stations that sold my favorite brand of bagged iced. It's truly insane. But I'm otherwise normal, promise. We don't have a fridge with a functioning ice maker, so I was buying bagged ice at least 3-4x per week to have and to munch on. Eventually I realized that if I found a decent ice maker, it would pay for itself eventually. AND BOY HAS IT! If this machine ever dies, I will absolutely repurchase, immediately. I may buy a backup so I never have to go without, truly. PROS: - Such a great product for the price! It paid for itself (by me no longer buying bagged ice) in like 2 months. I believe when I purchased it, it was discounted pretty significantly which was the cherry on top. But even the regular sale price is super fair for the product. - The ice itself is the biggest pro. Oh my god, the ice. It is officially my favorite ice in the world - topping all the restaurants and bagged ice brands and airlines that I once ranked lol. It is soft but not too soft, and shaped my favorite way (bullets/ovals with holes in the middle). It's so good. - Set up and instructions were super easy. - You can choose small or large sized ice (although I always choose large) - The machine is fairly quick to churn it out - the only times it seemed slow was before I had it for long enough to have collected a stockpile in my freezer. - It's pretty quiet (although, if you are nearby and forget you have it on, the sound of the ice dropping may startle you!) - It isn't very imposing, doesn't take up a ton of surface area and doesn't really catch the eye when you enter the kitchen. - It can take about 64 oz of water at a time. I have the machine right beside my Vitamix, so I just fill the vitamix with water, pour it into the ice maker, and then am good for a while. CONS/Room for Improvement - and I'm being detailed with this but personally, these are all things I'm not altogether fussed about given the trade-off but I know it may matter to others! - The piece that holds the collected ice is big enough to completely fill a cup of mine that holds about 32oz of water. Once it is full, it stops producing ice until it is emptied or has melted down enough to make room to produce more. When I forget to turn it off, I come home to a chamber that was definitely once full, but the ice that has now melted down is positioned in such a way that it still registers as being full even though, with a shake, it's really only half-filled by that point. I'd be happy with a bigger chamber, but honestly the fact that it fills the cup I always use is kind of perfect. If I was fighting others for ice, this may be a bigger deal to me. - When it needs more water, it makes a sound where you know it's trying to run to produce more ice but can't draw up water. I think it'd be a nice touch if it powered off or had some sort of sensor to prevent the motor from continuing to try to make ice until you refill it - similar to the 'ice full' sensor. - If you are stocking up your freezer, you do have to empty out the container yourself. Which leads to some drippage on the floor. It takes a large amount of these trips from machine to freezer to fully fill up the freezer's ice box. And because the ice is soft and wet, it often really clumps together in the ice box so my husband and I have to take turns hacking away at it with a knife so that it breaks apart enough to be able to dispense through our fridge's ice dispenser. I've seen others say they bag it, and as it freezes into one big mass they break it up on the ground like you would bagged ice - which is a solid solution, unless you're filling your freezer's ice box so that it can move through the dispenser like we do. - Ice texture is different the first few times it drops after turning it on, or when it fully empties of water and you completely refill it for some reason? Hard to explain, but after a couple cycles it goes back to perfection. Not a huge deal to me. - Once turning it on, it takes probably...45ish mins (give or take) to fully fill the chamber. - The chamber itself is not chilled, however the collection of ice keeps itself cold for a good while before it starts melting. A completely full container will take at least an hour or two before it is noticeably smaller in size. - It's not really the ice's fault but I prefer the ice straight from the machine over the stockpile I keep in my freezer. Once in the freezer, it (obviously) really solidifies and loses the satisfying softness! So my favorite thing to do is have enough in the freezer for if we have company (or if it is the summer time and my ice consumption is faster than the machine), and otherwise use it straight from the machine! - Because there's work involved with manning the ice maker (work I am happy to do for the payoff), if we are going to fill anything aside from a really small cooler, we will still buy bagged ice for that.

Non-existent Customer Service
Update 9/21/2022: Silonn never returned any of my emails or contacted me back. Don't buy this one. I lost the price of this item and because we really loved having an icemaker, now I have to purchase another one. I'm not happy. UPDATE: 08/14/2022: My beloved icemaker is now emitting an oily yellow chemical into the water retaining basin. As you can imagine, I won't be using this icemaker again! Naturally, it happens when I'm just past my Amazon return window so I've contacted the manufacturer, Silonn for assistance with getting a replacement. I will update my review according to their response. I do hope it was just a defective item and they will send me a new one. I miss it already! I'm taking one star off for now but if they replace it promptly and the new one works I'll add back the star! I've been looking at these for a while now since my new fridge didn't have an ice maker and I thought I could just use ice trays. TBH the ice trays just weren't for me. I work 3 jobs and I just don't have a lot of time to mess around with ice trays. I understand if you think that's stupid and if ice trays work for you, more power to you but they just didn't work for me. So, anyway, I've been looking at these countertop ice makers but they are so pricey and I just couldn't bring myself to hit "place order" on any of them. But I was going to have guests over for dinner and I wanted to have ice so I finally bought this one after researching about 50 of them. I LOVE it. I use it every single day and so does my daughter. I love having easy, quick access to ice without having to mess with ice trays. This machine is easy to refill, easy to clean and easy to operate. I've only used the small ice cubes and they are plenty large enough for me. It makes ice fast. It is a bit noisy but my kitchen is one of those kinda long ones so I just put it on the counter farthest from the living area and I really only hear it when I'm in the kitchen cooking and making noise anyway. If your kitchen is right near your living or sleeping areas it might be a problem for you but it's fine for me. I love it so much that I'm really kicking myself for not buying it sooner. If you are teetering on the edge of deciding to buy one and you see this review, buy it! It is worth every penny.

Very cool
This machine is sleek and attractive. Makes ice quickly and is very easy to set up. It came with 2 packets of cleaner and a very detailed instruction manual. I’m very happy with this overall. I sure hope it lasts a long time. The cheaper ice makers I’ve bought in the past didn’t make it longer than 2 years even using filtered water and regular cleaning. I’ll enjoy looking at it for sure.

I love everything but the price!
So far I love it. Don't expect 40 lbs in a 24hr period, don't think thats going to happen but it makes plenty of Ice and store it ahead of time. The app hooks up effortlessly and is as eay to use a the screen on the machine. Takes 180 watts when the compressor is running and 130 when it's not. That's almost nothing, so its really efficient to operate.

Extremely dissapoited.
I deliberately bought expensive ice maker to assure I get quality. It arrived, I opened it. Not working! No ice but water. From second it was on. Too expensive for such a disappointment. Please replace.

You will be delighted you bought this! Life changing!
I am so happy I got this ice maker! I moved to the UK from California, and not having a plumbed-in fridge with a built in ice-maker is something I've found difficult. I know, I sound spoiled! But for me, I feel like ice should not that big of a luxury. Making drinks with maybe 3 ice cubes, to conserve the number of cubes in the tiny little trays (which crack, leak, and do not give up their ice without smashing them on the counter!) is a disappointment I no longer need to endure. The key point to this machine is: it works. It makes ice, and I'm getting plenty of use out of it. I fill up large zip lock bags with ice cubes to store in my freezer, and then I wipe her down and store her away. I have managed to find space in a cupboard in my tiny kitchen, as obviously storage is an issue. This isn't something I want on my counter permanently. That said, it is rather beautiful. I have to say the matt black finish is sleek. And, I am delighted there is a handle! Great design feature, since it does have some weight to it, and moving it in and out of the cupboard is far easier with handle access. Here's how it works: 1. You have to have it sit upright for 24hours before you use it. I think something to do with the anti-freeze and having it delivered. 2. Then, you clean it - which is super easy. Just wipe it all down and dry. 3. You open the lid and fill water to the fill line (I use filtered water to avoid lime-scale build up) 4. You position the basket inside the machine and close the lid. 5. There is an obvious ON button. And you can choose the size of the ice, Small or Large. It's digital, you press the button and it lights up green. 6. Then, you wait. The machine will make ice. When the basket is full, it automatically stops production. 7. You empty the basket, and the machine will resume making ice with the remaining water. 8. A light will come on when you need to add more water. Because the machine stops making ice when the basket is full, you can't leave this running overnight or unattended if you are intending on making lots of ice. Also, the ice will start to melt while it sits in the basket, albeit slowly. There is no alarm beep to advise that the basket is full, as far as I have experienced. It is kind of noisy, but you know, it's making ice, so that's expected. I don't find it overly loud. I have it on right now and it's not bothersome. It sounds quieter than the standing fan I have blowing. As other reviewers have noted the ice size is rather small. I have only ever put it on the Large setting because I can't imagine the point of having smaller ice than the "large" size it makes. I suppose I should try just to see! I haven't bothered up until now. Overall I am SO happy I have this machine. It is easy to use in every aspect. I consider it an excellent investment, and am thrilled I bought it. I don't even remember what I paid for it, but it's worth it! I can make ice-tea whenever I want, with loads of ice! I can make a proper G&T with half a glass full of ice! YES! Summer is so much more delightful with ice. I'd say that although this is heavy, it is portable in terms of the size. You could pack this in your car if you are going on vacation in the UK. You could loan it to a friend! Highly recommend. PS, you won't usually find me leaving reviews with this much detail. I just put my ice-maker on today and I thought: everyone needs to know about this! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
