Works fine. Installed by electrician
I installed my first ceiling fan myself. Once was enough, thank you very much. I bought a second hunter fan and got this to go with. Obviously easy to use and very convenient for turning the light on and off. If you’re getting the fan, you may as well get this to go with. No chains to pull. Hunter makes a high quality product and this adds to its utility. Unless you’re really handy and can hold it up with one hand while wiring it to the ceiling, hire a guy or get a smart buddy.

Great Remote!
This is my first ceiling remote control, It was easy to install after I watched a video on YouTube. This remote works great on my Hunter ceiling fans builders deluxe 53091. Just make sure your light bulbs are dimmable.

Works as advertised.
Installed with new Hunter fan. Wiring diagram on box was clear but no instructions were included in box on how to pair or use the remote. I finally found the information on the Hunter fan website but it was difficult to find. It would be really useful if instructions were included in the box. It would have been really useful for a picture on where the receiver box was to be located as the description on the website was vague. I figured it out, but it would have sped up installation if I didn't have to search the website.

Used to Replace Remote/Receiver for Sontera Model 22436
I used the Hunter 99770 remote/receiver to replace the existing remote/receiver that came with my Hunter Sontera Model 22436 ceiling fan purchased in 2004. The original receiver would no longer turn on the fan, but curiously would still turn on the lights. I first removed the light globes and bulbs, then the fan blades. The original installation instructions weren’t clear on the best way to detach the fan from the ceiling. I removed the screw on the side of the canopy that had the small hooks first. I then removed the screw on the other side thinking I could just gently let the fan swing down while staying on the small hooks. No such luck. The whole fan detached in my hands. So I’m not sure what the proper way is to get it to stay on the hooks. Regardless, I just held onto the fan and removed the wire nuts from the fan to the receiver and then sat the fan aside. I discovered that no ground wires were present. Perhaps they weren’t required back in 2004? Anyway, because the original electrician has shoved the wires so far back into the outlet, I had to remove the fan bracket just to extract the wires. Once all this was done, I removed the original receiver and wired up the new one. Unless you have a really tall ladder with a working platform, I would suggest having a helper available to finish all the wiring and to get the fan back in place. The remote worked as advertised, and with a greater range than the original. It also seems more substantial than the original remote. The only thing I don’t like is that the lights don’t come on at full brightness. I have to hold down the light button on the remote to cycle through the dimming process to get them to full brightness. Why they changed this aspect is beyond me. Overall, I’m satisfied with it other than it took me 2+ hours to complete the project. UPDATE: Two things I got wrong. One, apparently after a couple of on/off cycles, the lights will come on at their previous setting which is good and makes more sense. You just have to wait a second for the lights to adjust. Two, I overlooked the last line of instructions on the enclosed remote control card. You can disable the dimming function so that the lights turn on at full brightness every time. Thus I increased my rating to five stars. The only thing I can think of to improve the receiver would be to offer a pass through of the common (white) wire, like on the original receiver, to make the wiring connections easier.

So far so good
This item was used to replace a remote and receiver for a Hunter fan that had gone bad. It was installed 2 weeks ago and the fan has been running fine since. The original remote and receiver lasted about 9 years.

Worked perfect with our Hunter ceiling fan
I bought this as a replacement for missing remote for a Hunter ceiling fan (The previous home owner didn’t leave us the remote). This particular fan had the receiver built into the fan and not in the ceiling mounting bracket, so I only bought the remote control and not the receiver. I reached out to Hunter support via email, and they sent me instructions on how to synchronize the new remote to the existing fan. (The new remote didn’t come with these instructions !!!, so kudos to Hunter support) The remote control was simple to program to work with our fan. So before you order a replacement remote for your Hunter fan, do your homework.

Didn't work; didn't fit; random batteries included?
Unboxed - noticed right off that it came with a shrink-wrapped pair of AAA batteries "to install in the remote". The remote already had batteries installed; the coin-type - what are the AAA for? Receiver says it's rated for a 1A maximum fan load - My Hunter Original draws 2.3A, per the nameplate. The green receiver won't fit in a brand new Hunter Original canopy. Anyway - installed per instructions; didn't work - flickering lamp; nothing on the fan motor - no matter what I did with the remote - though the blue function indicator LED flashed as expected with each key press. Taking the receiver out and bench-checking it, I measure line voltage of 122VAC out of the blue "lighting" wire - but under an incandescent lamp load, it drops voltage and only lights the lamp a bit, with significant flicker. Constant 14.6VAC out of the black "motor" wire - regardless of requests from the remote. Will check with Hunter tomorrow, but likely returning this - sad to see this level of quality. House has four Hunter Originals from 1980; all running fine. Concerned now how long the new Hunter Original I bought last week here for ~$550 will last.

Easy to install replacement remote control and base.
My dog that likes to chew on things, any things, got a hold of the patio fan remote. I needed a new remote and base and found this one which was compatible. The installation was pretty simple. The remote received goes at the very top of the fan where the electrical connections are made. Duh. All I had to do was de-energize the circuit (Very Important!), pull off the wire nuts, replace the receiver, replace the wire nuts, replace the cover (this was a pain until I realized it only fit one way and what I was attempting was not that way). Easy peasy and the dog has a new chew toy.

Funciona bien.
