It has a ridge seam and two "gable end" seams.** A: One tube should do the job, unless you really goop it on thick and heavy. I have been working on a rainfly for a 4-person tent. It has many seams so I had to get a second tube. A two-person, simple tarp should pose no problems to cover with a single tube, IMHO. **Q: Will this work on an older tent to seal the seams?** A: Hello Buzz, This sealant is designed to seal up seams coated in silicone which occurs on most tents. HouseofScuba **Q: Can I use this to adhere screen mesh to patch a 4 inch hole in the mesh portion of a lightweight tent?** A: I think it would work fine. Down side is that there is not as much surface area for the adhesive to bond to. I personally would hand stitch the patch to the screen and then go over the stitching and the overlapping portion (border) of the patch with the Seam Grip. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great multipurpose sealer *by on Reviewed in the United States May 31, 2026* I purchased this sealer to apply to the plastic seat cushion cover on my three-person swing where the seat and back bends. The bend is stitched and every time a sat down my ass would get wet from rain that penetrated into the cushion. The sealer has worked great with no more water seepage. It is a little thin in consistency and dripped onto the flat surface, so try to apply it in a horizontal position. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked well on SilNylon tent *by on Reviewed in the United States April 26, 2024* I used this to reseal the seams on an older Tarptent Rainbow tent - Note I am referring to the silicone coated nylon model of the tent. This is a great tent that I have used on both the Appalachian trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. I diluted the silicone sealant to a 50/50 mix with mineral spirits before applying it with a foam brush. It applied smoothly and evenly along the seams. There are YouTube videos that will demonstrate how to mix and apply this type sealant. This tube provided more than enough sealant to reseal my tent.
