You've tried the rest now try the best
Maybe you're here because you've tried using bad mics and now you want to invest in something that works a little better. That was my experience and this Purple Panda mic didn't disappoint. It works straight out of the box with no set up or installation issues. The sound is best when you use voice recorder. Otherwise, if you use it for video it's good but you may you need to use Audacity (free software) to clean up some residual background noise. Then the sound is perfect. It takes about 5 seconds and is well worth it to get the best audio possible if you're recording video. It comes with a cool purple deadcat which I can't wait to try out in a windy park (I live in San Francisco). I don't have a recording studio or anything and I use a lapel mic as a good way of getting decent audio as I don't want to record inside a closet lol. For a beginner YouTuber like me, this mix is perfect and I am going to use it for as long as I possibly can! If you prefer to wear a lapel mic (also called Lavalier) this is perfect. You'll get a better sound quality with a larger one that connects to either your camera or computer, but this is perfect for those that prefer a mobile mic that attaches directly to you. You never have to worry about how far away your mouth is from the mic, it's always right there.

Biker mic
Great service and the mic works as a great mic for my motorcycle videos. My exhaust is loud and in the videos with my GoPro Hero10, you can hear me very clearly. Highly recommend!

I have one and I must say it's amazing once I found out how to connect the cords ...
I am the Truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.. so help me God here goes... The purple panda stands its grown as second in competition with Lav mics but first in the non battery devision with me. Tested it agains another such as the Rode and Boya mic I have 2 panda mics that's I purches for my persons use and for testing purposes After my test I must say it's amazing once I found out how to connect the cords together. Its sounds is clear compare to the Boya battary mic.... it carry a slightly highly treble but it's a very light notice onless your a sound man or engineer... Compare to Boya-M1 it lost by 1 point The Boya M1 is battery operated But kills while in a Dslr and just for recording period But not everyone like a battary mic the quality was empecable.. So I rank it #1 I love the fact that you don't need batteries with the Panda and that with newer device you can go wireless such as the mevo and other video capturing devices and apps... from IOS and androids I give the panda 4 stars because for any newbie just looking for that running start into the video world, commercial world, or the YouTube world, it's the most easies way to get some A2 good sound. BUT, you must read the manual to know how to connect the detachable connections in the package; CAUSE if not it won't work properly on DSLRs. BUT, if you use connection 1 or 2 or 3 correctly you will love your sound there after.... NOW I MUST SAY, the purple wind Filter aka rabbit tail, aka panda Tail, sound ok but it is one ugly ass Device to pined up on your clothing while doing a commercial or a quick informercial. Jeeeeeesus..... this thing is ugly COME ON PANDA MANUFACTURE let's revamp that BUNNY TAIL Pleeeease..... Thanks for reading if you have any other questions you may connect with me on YouTube @Akapello Di General Same for FB, IG, Twitter And LinkedIn. I will teach you the secrets no one will ever share on how to turn your passion into a digital profit... Take care hope this review helps...

Great lavalier mic for a fair price
I got this lavalier mic after my prior one started getting pops and crackles. Had this since late 2019 and it has far outlasted my prior brand. I have been using this with my old smart phone to capture audio for my YouTube videos. Does a great job for a budget mic. So if you can't bite the bullet and buy the more expensive audio options that run $100+, this is a great alternative to improve sound quality over built in mic setups on most camera's. Keep in mind this will not be super high quality, but the wind socks this comes with do a much better job than I would have expected out of a $30 setup. After several events and many trips packing and unpacking the sound quality still hasn't broken down or degraded. I have definitely been impressed by the quality of sound you get for a ~$30 product. The cord length is good, it comes with an extension cord, adapters and it also comes with 2 styles of windsock(the usual foamy style and a 'deadcat' style sock). The wind socks do a pretty good job of getting rid of wind noise and other small background noises, but it's not perfect. I use a standard plug on my phone, so haven't needed the adapters. I would expect the adapters work, but I'll let someone who has used them comment on that part. I can definitely say this was well worth the price and if I'm not ready to upgrade to a zoom setup by the time this dies, I would buy another.

Excellent quality at a really great price.
The microphone stopped working after using it 2 times. I've tried connecting it to 3 different computers and 2 other recorders but it's dead. I don't recommend this article to anyone. It's really BAD QUALITY!!! Update: I reached out to the vendor to get my warranty and they shipped a brand new microphone within 2 days. It works like a charm. I've tested it on all my previous devices and there are no issues at all. The audio quality is really amazing.

Good mic
Amazing mic for the price. Honestly surprised it’s this cheap. I make motovlogs on YouTube with this mic (tropical ted). It blocks out all wind noise and very easy to install. Small and compact

Improvement over internal mic but gain is too low
I started a DIY/Product Review YouTube channel (diymark) and I quickly learned that audio is very important. The purple panda mic got good reviews and it is reasonably priced. But I found it comes with some of it's own challenges. First my phone (Moto 5G) did not recognize it and continued to use the internal mic. After downloading several alternative cameras I was able to find two that worked with the mic (Magix camera FX- Free & Cinema FV-5- $2.50). I also found the Panda mic gain is a bit low for my use. I record most of my videos in a large garage or outdoors and they come out quiet. I often move around illustrating DIY activities and the audio will fluctuate depending on my body position and environmental sounds. In general I have to boost the gain in post production. Still it is a vast improvement over the echo audio that the internal mic brought. If your videos are vlog style where you are sitting 5 feet away facing the camera in a quiet room this mic will work well. But I am still searching for a better solution. Overall I would rate this mic a solid "C+". About my rating: 5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B) 3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C). 2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D) 1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F)

Does what it says on the tin, great customer service.
I've seen a lot of people praising this mic up for its quality at the price point, so when it came time for me to upgrade my current set up, this seemed like a no-brainer. I connected to my Olympus WS-852 using the included TRRS adapter and did some test recording both indoors and out, using the included dead cat for wind reduction. Initial results were promising, outside of a strange buzzing sound whenever there was dead air. Thinking that this may be the fault of my voice recorder, I switched over to my Google Pixel 2 and used the stock voice recording app on the phone as well as Smart Voice Recorder off the Play Store. The results were a lot better, however there was still an annoying mosquito-like buzz that permeated any dead air in the recordings. Big shout out to Purple Panda and Julie specifically for their awesome customer service though! I expressed these concerns to them in an email and they were quick to get back to me with some recommendations on how to fix the issue. Unfortunately, they didn't work in this case, but that's no fault of hers! Luckily, that buzz is very easy to remove in post, so I cannot fault the mic too hard for it. It does add an extra layer of work when it comes to editing, so I had to knock a star off for that. The second star came off due to how sensitive the mic really is. I've tried multiple angles and distances to help get rid of the breathing sounds when I'm walking and for the life of me I can't eliminate them. That being said, my old lav mic was nigh impossible to use because it was so omnidirectional and quiet. It may not have picked up breathing, but at the same time you had to be louder than I felt was comfortable talking in order to get clear recordings. All in all, I would say take the chance and grab this lav mic. It's definitely top three, if not the absolute best in price point for your semi-pro videographer.
