It should fit with most of tank for flushmate.Did you pull off inlet water hose from tank at left bottom. Pull off it then sure to fix with your tank for flushmate I think.

Push button but it comes with accessory parts for the lever flush as well which were in the box with all the needed instructions.

The Sloan M-102540-F Flushmate System is a complete pressure-assist flush system for 501-A or 501-B series tanks. It fits porcelain manufacturers American Standard, Crane, and Laufen tanks. If this is true I would believe this can replace the 501a and 501b and the m102540f. I hope this helps you out.
