I normally give my cat the Renafood supplement for his CRF. However, back in December 2013, amazon was out of stock, and based on the positive reviews,  I decided to purchase this Renatrophin instead. It caused my cat to vomit up his food everyday, sometimes twice per day. He's already underweight due to his kidney disease so this was an unacceptable side effect. I stopped giving it to him and waited for the Renafood to become available again. It appears that many people have had good luck using this supplement for their pets but my 15 year old cat did not. :(

Is this the product dr. berg recommended by standard process called renafood?

No, Renafood  is a different product.
I use Standard Process #7120.

Renatrophin will help repair and Renafood will nourish the kidneys.

Hi. My dog has been diagnosed with kidney problems. (Creatinine 1.9, BUN 54, Phosphate 14) How long does it take for this to show improvement ?

Hi Michael, I´m sorry about your dog.  Answering your question.  When my 14 years old dog was diagnosed with kidney disease, he was in the early stage, the vet test results was: BUN 17.7  CREA 168 PHOS 1.32. First he was treated at the veterinarian clinic with a treatment of kidney desintoxication consistent in replacement of fluids to detox his kidneys in after that he had to start the diet as a Vet advice, then I did some research and found excelent reviews about this product, and I started giving him Renatrophin (one tablet) with the first meal Royal Canin Renal mixed with some rice, chicken and 1 spoon of grated row carrot.  He had to take also at least 3/4 of liter of water daily.  Diet is crucial in renal disease treatment.I hope this will be helpful for your dog although not every cases is the same.  My dog lived two years since the diagnosis and passed away ath the age of 16.  He will need lots of care, love and patience.  Good luck.  Marcela.
