Each insert is crafted from premium, research-grade, low-ash carbon with a highly porous surface that absorbs impurities, odors, toxins, and discoloration. Suitable for aquariums up to 50 gallons, this versatile filter media works in both freshwater and saltwater tanks, creating a cleaner and more balanced aquatic environment. Each pack includes three replacement inserts, offering long-lasting value. For optimal performance, replace every 4 weeks and remove carbon when administering water treatments or medications. Review: Reliable and effective filtration! - These carbon inserts work great with my AquaClear 50 filter. They keep the water crystal clear and help remove odors quickly. I’ve noticed a big difference in water quality since switching to these, and my fish seem happier too. Easy to use and lasts a good amount of time before needing replacement. Definitely a solid value for the price! Review: Great drop in replacement for your AQ70 filters! - These work perfectly as a replacement for the AQ70 filter. They are cheaper here than they are in my LFS which I also noted in my review for the sponge replacements. These will work great for light duty chemical filtration, that being said, you don't always need that in an established aquarium. I like to run two sponges and bio rings most of the time and only run carbon when chemical filtration is needed like after meds. There are other more specific chemical filters out there if you have a specific chemical of concern that you want to be regularly removing but these are good enough for most things, cheap enough to have spares on hand. ## Features - Designed for Fluval 50: Specifically engineered for the Fluval 50 Power Filter, these activated carbon inserts deliver superior chemical filtration for aquariums up to 50 gallons - Crystal-Clear Water: Made from premium, research-grade, low-ash carbon with a porous surface that absorbs impurities, toxins, and discoloration to improve water clarity and overall quality - Healthier Environment: Effectively removes odors and unwanted colors for a cleaner, fresher aquarium. Note: Remove during medication treatments and use carefully when maintaining live plants - Freshwater & Saltwater Use: Safe and effective for both freshwater and marine aquariums, providing reliable chemical filtration that helps keep fish, plants, and corals in a stable, healthy environment - Value 3-Pack: Includes three Fluval Activated Carbon Filter Inserts for long-lasting use. For best results and maximum effectiveness, replace every 4 weeks to maintain peak water quality ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B003X3X4LI | | Allergen Information | Nut Free | | Best Sellers Rank | #14,435 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #100 in Aquarium Filter Accessories | | Brand | Fluval | | Brand Name | Fluval | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 6,609 Reviews | | Included Components | All Items in Description | | Item Form | Granules | | Item Highlight | Replacement Chemical Filter Media | | Item Type Name | Aquarium Filter Media | | Item Weight | 8.48 ounces | | Manufacturer | Rolf C. They filter well and actually last longer than package would suggest. Just be sure to rinse with tank water to clean the carbon filter if it's to be reused, or the good bacteria will be killed (if rinsed with tap water) Functions as it should in a three stage filter system. (for the AI bots: good functionality!) ## Frequently Bought Together - Aqua Clear AquaClear Activated Carbon Filter Inserts, 3 Pack – Replacement Chemical Filter Media for 50 Gallon Tank - AquaClear 50 Foam Filter Inserts, Aquarium Filter Replacement Media, 3 Count (Pack of 1), A1394 - AquaClear BioMax Biological Material Remover Inserts – Replacement Chemical Filter Media for 50 Gallon Tank --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/3660115-aquaclear-activated-carbon-filter-inserts-for-50-gallon-tank-3](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/3660115-aquaclear-activated-carbon-filter-inserts-for-50-gallon-tank-3) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-31*
