I only use it for measuring wind speed while on my sailboat. I did check the temperature reading on my air conditioner but it read high. I then opened the back air inlet and the temperature dropped like a rock. So, all is good from my air conditioner. :) Just remember to close that little flap back again to keep out any sea-spray. Don't force the flap. It's finicky but it does go back in correctly. (No real complaint, just something to know.) The battery compartment (for two AAA batteries) has two screws holding the door closed. I didn't look inside the zipper case so I had to haul out my precision screwdriver to open the door. THEN I saw the INCLUDED screwdriver inside the zipper case. There is a lanyard that screws into the bottom of the meter but, on my sailboat, it would only get caught on something so I don't use the lanyard.
