Best gel I ever used . Keeps my curd well defined

The fragrance is SOOO strong, it immediately flared up my asthma and allergies... editing to say, I do like the performance of the product.

I found this stuff about 10 years ago when a stylist who specializes in Curly Girl styles used it on my hair. Oh my god!!! I had soft, full ringlets for DAYS. If you follow the directions (i.e. drying hair gently with a diffuser or air drying, using a generous amount of product, and protecting it with a satin cap at night), you will be thrilled with the results! When it is dry, the curls are soft and not crunchy. Best if used from a few inches from the scalp to the ends. Once you put it on, LEAVE IT ALONE and let it dry. You can use clips to lift areas if you feel the need. Resist messing with it, and it will form casts around your curls. One thing though: you can't comb though it after it dries. It will make your hair feel bushy and you will lose the curl. Wish I'd have known about this stuff when I was younger!

Does a great job of defining curls just by scrunching your hair

I've used Deva Curl products for over 10 years. Unfortunately, their gel product has changed and now it's AWFUL! The gel is very runny, so much that it leaks out the pump when the bottle is tipped. The gel has ZERO hold and my curls became frizzy as soon as my hair dried (I tried it on wet and dry hair with the same result). Also the company changed it's subtle pleasant scent to a strong odor that smells like my husband's deodorant. If you want frizzy hair and to smell like a man's armpit, then buy this product. Personally, I'll be shopping for a new hair gel. I wish Deva Curl would've kept what worked!

While this reduces frizz, it does not hold my light curs/waves much at all.

I have fine curly hair. It’s thinning as I get older. My hair dresser uses DevaCurl and recommended I use it regularly. It is very light, but holds the curls. I just scrunch my wet hair with it and let it air dry. No crunchiness. I highly recommend.

It has been several years since I used this Deva Curl gel. I do find that it still has a nice light hold but the gel is definitely thinner than it used to be and I also don't think it smells as nice. Keep in mind that you do need to scrunch in a good amount of product for it to work, so for the price, it doesn't go as far as you would hope it would.

great product. Finally found a styling gel that holds , adds body and isn't stiff. Just enough hold without being stiff.
