Review: A real life saver - I care for my 93 year old father who has Alzheimer's. Within the last year he has reached the phase where he will wake up extremely confused at night and sometimes try to go roaming in a house with stairs. I was very worried that he would end up falling while trying to get to the bathroom, or try going down the stairs unassisted at night, and I would never know. I bought this and it has been wonderful. Every time he has gotten up in the middle of the night, the remote has gone off and I have been able to get to him in time. More than once he has fallen out of the bed and I have been able to get him back up and make sure he was still okay. He has some terrible issues with voiding his bladder at night, and the diaper+booster pad+waterproof under pad does not always catch it all, so this little alert pad has definitely seen some things. After 3 months, it is still going strong. I got the set with the bed and chair alarm and together they have saved me from a lot of stressful worry as well as a LOT of potential bathroom "accidents". I highly recommend.

A: Yes. The patented PreRise sensor pad is placed at hip level to detect when your loved one starts getting up, before they are fully out of bed.

**Q: Will it wake or scare them?**
A: No. There is no loud bedside blast. The alert goes wirelessly to the pager you carry.

**Q: Why is hip placement better?**
A: Hip placement helps detect real bed-exit movement. Shoulder placement triggers many more false alarms from simple rolling or shifting.

**Q: What is the battery life?**
A: The pager needs 2 AA batteries, which can be replaced when necessary (depending on the usage). The batteries in the sensor pad cannot be replaced and have a life span of around 15 months after it is turned ON for the first time

**Q: What is the range of the pager device?**
A: We measured in open spaces, and it should cover a minimum of 400 feet (122 meters). Note that indoors, the building layout and materials will affect the distance you can receive.
