A must have if you actually use the EQ
Works well with the Aiwa exos 9. I wish that the company would have included it but it is not this particular seller‘s fault. It actually arrived before the speaker came. What I can say that is a major positive on this remote is the ability to change equalizer settings. Yes, there are apps available through your devise (well I don’t know anything about droids) but iOS devices have quite a few equalizing apps but you have only can run Apple Music to use the equalizers. So the one thing I do find about this remote is the ability to change your equalizer settings without having to get up out of your chair to change your equalizer settings. Also, there are not many speakers or should I say Bluetooth speakers in this price range that actually have the ability to change your EQ and a five band EQ on a $300 Bluetooth speaker is pretty darn good in my opinion. Now, if you’re one of those people who want to do everything through their phone that’s all good and you don’t need the remote but you will have to get up to change your equalizer settings on the unit it’s self and maybe you don’t care to even change the settings which is fine some people like the pre-EQ sounds or no equalization. To each their own but I am an audiophile and while this Bluetooth speaker is not anywhere near an audio files standard it sounds really amazing for the price and for being Bluetooth. Having the remote control is a definite plus not just to change the input if you happen to have another input you are using, or if you are super stoked on the stereo and you want to sync another unit then definitely using the remote control is very easy and I think a must have.

Awesome little remote
This remote is a perfect little companion for the Exos-9. I can understand the reason to have it as an option as many probably don't see a use to have one but for me it comes in handy. It supports all featues such as Play/Pause/ Track Back and Fwd/ Bluetooth Link/Input/ EQ settomgs and Bluetooth Locked Unlocked which I love to keep others out. The majority of the time I have my Exos-9 across the bedroom on a TV stand and it is hooked directly into my satellite box using a 3.5mm to RCA cable. While the Exos-9 switches to Aux when the cable is plugged in, I like to be able to use the remote while laying in bed to flip the Exos-9 to Auxillary mode If I'm watching a movie or show and want much bigger sound than the tinny TV speakers. This also allows me to leave the cable plugged in on the back. If I want to switch back to Bluetooth to listen to music off my iPhone as I fall asleep I can do that without having to get up out of bed to do the same operations on the touch screen. Five star rating but Aiwa, in the future you should really start including the remote. -My first dock was a $99 Logitech and even it included a remote. I am confident the Exos9 will still be worth every penny even if it were $10-20 more and anyone who owns one would certainly agree I think.

Perfect Accessory for Aiwa Exos-9
This remote enhances the Aiwa Exos-9 perfectly. You're able to control the volume levels between the levels that your phone is capable of. Before this remote, I'd put the volume on level 5 on my phone; too low? Level 6; too loud! Now I can reach the in-between volume levels. Adjusting the equalizer is also a large plus with this. With just the push of a button, you can go from one genre to the next, seamlessly. I haven't used the Bluetooth locking function yet. I'm not sure if I will. My one gripe with this product is that it didn't come with the speaker. They should definitely be a pair. This remote comes with the battery and requires no programming to start working.

Making the Exos-9 even more enjoyable.
This remote takes the functionality of the Exos-9 to a whole new level. It uses a CR 2032 button cell, which is generally used in small remotes and for motherboard BIOS memory retention, so it's common and cheap, making battery replacement simple. The remote has the Bluetooth lock button, so if you want to use that feature with the Exos-9, I highly recommend the remote based solely on that. It also has an input button, which makes switching your preferred input method quite easy. All in all, bundling this remote with your Exos-9 is a no brainer.

Essential bit of hardware if you want to lock the BT on your Exos 9
I’ve owned the Exos 9 since it was offered on beta. Fantastic portable speaker EXCEPT the Bluetooth can be hijacked by anybody within 50’. The remote solves this problem — or at least that’s why I bought it. Functions- - cycles through inputs (wired/BT) - activates LINK function - volume up/down - granular Equalizer control - next/previous track - lock/unlock BT Obviously - some of the remote functions will result in feedback on your smartphone. e.g. Pushing next song will visually advance the song on your Spotify app. Cycling the lock key appears to 1) lock; 2) put into sleep mode?; 3) wake up. Not sure if this was the intention or if this is what’s actually happening. Remote feels comfortable in hand. Designed well and controls all Exos functions. I’m going with 4 stars as it should either be included with speaker, or there should be a BT lock button or other function on the speaker itself.

It works great. As expected
It works great. As expected, what I like least about the aiwa exist 9 is that when 2 are pared together you cannot adjust the volume to different levels on each one. They will always be the same and this awesome bass they talk about, not so much. Still it is a good product, and I would highly recommend the remote and the sound quality of the speakers is very good. Don't expect the volume they talk about in the reviews. They're customer service is Awesome.

Icing for the Cake.
Works Great. It's not a must have, as you can control the Exos with your Bluetooth device. It is good to have though. I think the price is very reasonable. It is nice to be able to finesse the equalizer with, as well as skip tracks. I'm aware that some people have complained that the remote did not come with the speaker. I'm not in that camp, as I feel the price point on the speaker is already more than fair. 😎 JS SAYN
