The base fixing is screwed to the ceiling, the wire is passed through “cover” and the ball bearing (this locks cable) and the out of the hole in the side. The cover can be screwed on to the base and you will be unable to pull the cable downwards. However, you can pull it up by the cable from the hole. This means that you can easily adjust the cable length for each fitting and make the same length if that’s what you require. Sorry, it’s difficult to describe but hopefully it will make some sense. **Q: Thickness of wire with protective coating??** A: Hello. Sadly, Amazon don't allow attachments other than video otherwise I would have sent you a picture of the wire in a digital vernier caliper gauge showing the exact measurement!
