I need to cover up a name & rewrite the correct name. Does the wite-out dry invisible or can you tell it’s there?

I LOVE the pens because they're vey precise and they last forever but I would say there is a slight learning curve. Shake up the pen well and try it out on some practice surfaces. When you feel you have the hang of it, apply to the piece that needs correcting. It will cover it up if you do it right. It covers as well as any white out when used right.

is there an expiration date? i mean, if they sit for a year will they dry out?

As long as the cap is on I don't see why it would do that, same as a pen or a bottle of white-out.

Can one get thin and thick lines with this?

It does come out in one thickness, so if you wanted to get a thicker line you would have to run a second line right next to the first. The label says to use just like a pen, so think of it that way.

What is the return period? Very runny. I like the original brush kind much better.

Return period is standard, isn't it? I like them. They are not just like the brush-on Wite-Out. You need to remember to shake the pen first and then press the point of the pen firmly on the surface requiring correction. I often forget that step and then fume because the pen isn't working.
