I am a bit more picky about this type of product than most as I definitely don't want an adapter that melts on me and could potentially start a fire! The majority of reviews on this product were positive and it wasn't *so* cheap that I had doubts about possible quality so I decided to go for it. I have been checking on this strip daily since installing it about 10 days ago. I don't generally run it for more than four hours of a time so I can't speak as to how it would fare if left on nonstop, but I am feeling comfortable with it for occasional use and not noticing any heat issues.
