After using them for years, though, I understand why they have such a loyal following. The biggest difference is the material. These are made from cellulose acetate rather than the cheap molded plastics used in most combs. I've been reading and hearing all this and that about combs made from plastic molds. 2 pieces, put together leaving a razor sharp seam right down the middle and in between every comb tooth which shreds your wet hair when combing it out. I thought, NEA...so I looked really good at my comb (that I've had since the earth was warm) and sure enough I can clearly see where the mold comes together leaving a line that sticks out and acts like a sharp razor. It had a collection of me on it (oils, lint, etc.). I'm glad to know this though! So...I bought this bad boy from England and it arrived within two weeks. I wasn't sure how this was going to work out, as the comb teeth are staggered (I've included 2 pics to view close up) and I figured it would be more of a hair ripper. However, I was surprised that it combed very well and actually sort of dug deep into the hair and it felt nice on my scalp as well, but the biggest part is that I could TELL the difference. In the way you comb your hair from the bottom to untangle first and then start back at the scalp combing down, it was a smoother ride. Try your old trusty and then switch to this one and you can feel it. ANYWAYS...I'm happier with this comb, I do wish that it were a bit bigger but not complaining. Its clearly quality and I would recommend anyone to purchase it. Long term & Long hair investment!

I've been using plastic brushes all my life and I wanted to branch out to different hair detangling tools. After doing a lot of research, I decided on this Kent comb. Kent is known for making good quality combs, and they didn't disappoint. The plastic material of the comb feels very durable and not cheap at all. The double row of comb teeth massages my scalp and is very comfortable. The comb is very effective at detangling, especially when combined with proper technique (starting combing from the bottom and work your way upwards). The only downside to this comb is that it's a little difficult to clean (I need to use an old toothbrush to clean it). All in all - great comb and I would recommend it to others.

The comb is good quality, good style and good size that also fits for a small purse, even though it was advertised as a large Detangling Comb. Works good on my thick hair.

There is very little space between the teeth with this comb. This is strange, as the whole purpose of a detangling comb is to not catch or pull on expanded, wet, long to long-ish hair, but leaving very little space between the teeth by necessity will cause catching and pulling. Think about running a very fine toothed comb through your wet hair...the negative effects that you imagine or experience are the result of the lack of space between the teeth and the small diameter of the individual teeth, so these effects will also be associated with a so-called detangling comb that does not leave ample space between the teeth and has fairly narrow teeth. Kent is a good company, and I use one of their other combs as my main go-to comb, but I really do not recommend this comb. If you are looking for a detangling comb, I would really suggest looking at some of the other ones offered that obviously contain more space between the teeth as well as larger teeth, at least if you don't want to rip your hair out when combing it wet.

Brush is good but not for my short hairs
