Rubbermaid Commercial Products Stock Tank Float Valve, Monitors Water Level Consistency, Compatible with all Stock Tanks

Bought a cheaper one and regretted it. I have this auto filler on a water trough for my cows and have had it now for about 5 months. Still working as it should with no leaks. I'll say if you need to remove the hose at times, I'd cut the male end off my hose and install a new male end with a hose clamp. Use plumbers tape on the threads of the hose when you first connect it leave it alone. Then when you want to clean the trough. take the hose off at the hose clamp instead of trying to unscrew the hose off the unit. . That should avoid it springing a leak if you're continually wanting to dump/clean your watering trough from time to time without messing with the connection. I've found that all of these auto fillers can be finicky with leaks at the hose connection.

Perfect replacement part for Rubbermaid water tank

We bought this float to go with out rubbermaid water tank. The float we had on it originally sat too high and our curious equines liked to play with it too much. That resulted in many replacements and several barn floods. We located this float after researching online. It fits snugly in our water tank and we have had no more floods and the horses can't reach the mechanism to play with it. We really like the way it works. The only concern we have is that since the whole thing is molded plastic that if the connections strip out, you have to replace the whole unit. Guess we will cross that bridge when and if we need it ever happens. Now if we can just get them to stop running into the tank the trying to turn it over, we will be in business.

You have no choice but to buy it because it is hard to find else where. Tip, Do not tighten to much or the cap will crack.

CRAP!! DONT BUY. Sits to high in the tub. The plastic adapters and junk and strip out. Needs an high adapter for it to sit in the tank more. If the tank is not completely level the float will not turn off and water goes out the side..what a horrible design!! ALSO! The fastener holes are directly below the hose attachment which doesn't work well AT ALL!!

Item was a good fit and works great. My old metal type floats were being damaged by the cattle. This style is a much better design and the cattle can’t damage the water connection.

My 10 year + tank had started leaking and I wasn't sure why. Tanks are upward of 300$ so even if this peice was costly it was well worth it. I do only use the drain plug 6 months out of year; I use the heated drain plug the rest of the time.
