Hazelnuts

I looked at all the hazelnut offerings available before ordering this product. I actually thought I had ordered salted nuts, but see here and on my package that I did not. Frankly I did not notice when eating the nuts. They are deliciously perfect and don’t need salt. I selected these based on a review that said they came sealed in foil to maintain freshness, and they did indeed. Also because they had a number of positive reviews, although most were not very descriptive. I've eaten Hazelnuts all my life and I love them. I have to say I never thought about buying them all by themselves, but through the luxury of Amazon we can have anything we want, so I decided to buy some. I have absolutely no idea what Turkish Hazelnuts are and so had no expectations, but I looked it up and this is really just another way of saying Hazelnuts since Turkey produces 80% of all the nuts produced in the world. With demand increasing around the world (especially in China) and these nuts being needed to make products like Nutella folks like me are lucky to get our hands on any nuts not in a product! In fact, one little town in Turkey produces almost all of these beauties and if they have bad weather the world crop suffers, as it did in 2013, and the price goes sky high. These Hazelnuts are delicious and perfectly dry roasted. The skins are all removed (blanched). Hazelnuts have a tendency to have the occasional bitter nut and I doubt any supplier can prevent that, but these are 98% (my unscientific estimate) sweet and delicious. I do not miss the salt at all, personally. They are really good. At $13.43 per pound including shipping this seems like an excellent price. The cost is about $.84/oz. Deluxe mixed nuts at Costco cost $21.49 for a 2.5 pound container (plus your membership of course). The deluxe nuts are made up of much less expensive nuts--about 50% almonds. The cost is $.54/oz. By comparison the cost of the pure hazelnuts doesn’t seem extreme. This is a good buy for a highly specialized product. I'll definitely be reordering. In fact I think I'll order as soon as I finish writing this. (Note: I’m on my fourth bag. I have a severely restricted diet and these nuts add some luxury to my life that I don’t get any other way. The cost is worth it to me.)

Outstanding! I would give this 10 stars if I could. They so delicious and fresh tasting beyond my expectations and I am very particular about what I eat. Crunchy, fresh, texture is perfect as it the roastedness. Primo, I’ll be ordering these again. P.s. The delivery was very slow, if I remember, it took a few weeks

I'm always worried about food products when ordering online, but boy have I've been impressed with this company. I've ordered these nuts three times now because they always come fresh, crunchy and oh so good! Hazelnut are by far my favorite nuts, but they can be a bit expensive. This bag not only gives you great tasting Hazelnuts, but at a great price for the quantity you get. Highly recommend them. Eat them right out of bag, add them to recipes or make nut milk from them. The possibilities are endless with these great tasting nuts.

I loved the idea that the nuts are ready to use and don't have to be roasted and peeled. The flavor above all is quite good.

Very good quality hazelnuts , crunchy , not stale (as other brands I purchased) completely pealed ...great taste... absolutely recommend. And OMG , this bag is huge....so many nuts for such good price.

If you haven't, you are missing out. I have ordered and tasted all of the available Hazelnuts all over the place. I grew up with the salt-roasted and still in the thick hard brown shell. When I ordered these I couldn't believe how authentic they are. Most if not all of these Hazelnuts come from a region in Turkey where the climate and geography are ideal. Nothing taste the same. Sorry Oregon! The sun and soil of the Black Sea hits your taste buds the minute you start to savor the sweet'ish, crunchy, naturally-great fat and protein and fiber your stomach and body with relish when these nuts hit them. I do feel sorry for those who never tried these nuts, but I doubt that you never had a Nutella or Ferrero Rocher chocolate. If you bite on a few bad ones, don't worry, the next one will make you forget the bad taste soon after. Also, most of the products on the market originate in the same country pretty much and so the best-tasting are those who snag the crop and it looks like US Nuts has done its homework.

I purchased these hazelnuts to make my own hazelnut extract. Then I add the extract to homemade coffee creamer in an attempt to get away from proccessed and artificial ingredients. They are fresh, rich in nutty flavor, and perfect for what I need. I love that I can add them to subscribe & save to replenish automatically!

As a former pastry chef, I've used a lot of these sorts of products. These are really terrific. Hazlenuts are a favorite of mine, but they can be labor-intensive, as their skins are often hard to remove (and messy} and they have to be roasted to really bring out the flavor. These are almost 100 percent skinless and have a great toasty flavor and wonderful crunch. I've been eating them out of hand, they're kind of addictive!
