You unscrew factory screws under the rubber mat and put bracket in screwing into original spot with original screws. I like that there was no drilling required. However to put your rubber mat back on you will need to cut the spaces where the bracket is. If you cut to fit the mat it looks nice. The bar is strong and good quality. Phone holder is adjustable by hand. Have to unscrew and screw each time. It fit to hold my samsung galaxy note 10. My phone did not move or shift while driving/GPS, I have not went off road to test if the mount will shift.
