Quality Product
This is a quality product, so much better than the flimsy thin metal mail box door commonly found on mail boxes. It is a thick aluminum, so it will not rust or corrode. It is also easy to install. Just cut the existing mail box off flush with the brick, then put this in with a bead of silicone all the way around. It also has places to secure with a couple of screws, which I did, but it is not necessary since the silicone will hold it solidly in place. And, this mail box is so much better looking than what I had. It really dresses up the look of my mailbox. Definitely worth the money.

Solid and attractive. It’s a great upgrade after my mailbox had gotten damaged. I’m really happy with it.

Heavy Duty!!!!
Worth Every penny heavy duty replacement mailbox door. I didn't want to play $100 for a replacement door but after receiving it and seeing how well made it was I understand the price.

Awesome replacement door
I typically do not write reviews, but just had to write a review on this mailbox replacement door. When the door to our mailbox broke I didn’t know what we were going to do. I did research on how to replace a mailbox that is encased in brick and mortar. That is when I came across this replacement door. I read the instructions and it seemed easy , so I decided to try it. I am happy to say that this is a very nice solution to a bad problem. And it looks so much nicer than our old mailbox door!

Great Product. Makes my mailbox look like brand new!
I really didn't know what I was going to do. Bricked up mailbox stand with a metal mailbox door and much of the mailbox rusted away. The door fell off so I knew I needed to do something. Then along comes Better Box Mailboxes! It might seem a bit pricey but really it is a quality product. Even has a spring action to ensure the door is always closed. All I had to do was take my grinder and cut off the exposed part of my mailbox. The part sticking out from the bricks...about an inch. Then I test fitted the replacement door to make sure it fit. I used liquid nails to glue the door into place. Looks very professional and a heck of a lot cheaper then hiring someone to tear down or open up the brick stand to insert a new metal box. My mailbox needed a little more TLC though as the floor was rotted out with holes. This will not fix that. So I went up to the hardware store and bought a small sheet of aluminum to fit right into the box. I bent the end to form a lip at the back of the box so that I would have an extra glue point and used the liquid nails to hold it in. Great product if your mailbox is like mine was. Not designed for any thing but replacing bricked/concreted mailboxes that stick out from the bricks/concrete. Update: December 2023 - The door is failing after 8 years of service. The spring has broken and fails to keep the door shut. One of the screws that hold the door in place is loose and cannot be tightened. A bit of a shocker that the door has more than doubled in 8 year.

Nice Room for improvement
Really nice heavy construction. Solid insert. Our neighbor hit our mailbox with his truck. Damaged the face. Our box is inside a concrete structure. I cut out the face and inserted the new box face. I noticed the spring is losing some strength. Definitely needs a better quality spring. I still love it though

It is very sturdy and think metal
It is very sturdy and think metal. Door hinges work great. Would be pretty darn easy on brick mailbox where surface is relative flush. There were a couple challenges: I have stone mailbox with irregular surface. Due to that, insert didn't set flush and created some gaps to behind facade. Two mortar screws included--but I was drilling into stone. The instructions say use a silicone-based adhesive. surprisingly enough, the big box stores don;t carry anything that is clearly marked silicone-based metal-to-metal adhesive. But I made it work. Would be much easier on flat facade brick. Even with my challenges, I replaced a smashed metal mailbox front with a very nice and sturdy insert that looks great. Without having to spend 300 bucks and take apart stone. The product itself is very well made and looks great.
