I use it and it works with my Lenovo T490 and MSI G75. Now, one thing that you have to know is that in some cases, if your laptop cannot handle the bandwidth used by the DVI and the downstream thunderbolt ports at the same time, you have to use one of these ports then. For example, on my MSI I can use the DVI and thunderbolt ports at the same time, but on my T490 I can't, this causes a power surge.
