My Generac repair person said he wouldn't be available for at least three months, and my ~2013 20kW Generac Guardian generator model 0058751 would not start. It showed "RPM Sense Loss, Error 1505". I looked online and they said check the battery (it was fine) and next change this out. It was very easy to change (under 30 minutes, and I'm a total novice) and the machine started right up. Probably saved over $300 for the visit, and months of downtime, too. I was a little worried that it would be the wrong one, but it was almost exactly the same as the old one. You might want to get some conductive grease - there was quite a bit in the original connections -- maybe because the connections face upward, and if any water got in the system, it would pool up in the connections. You don't have to take the LCD panel cover off, it's not in there (and there is a tiny wire harness that is tricky to put back on if you open it up).

Generac 22 kw did not start in auto for weekly maintenance run.Control panel evolution 2.0 had code 1505. Inspected battery and terminals. No issue. Google search indicated start relay issue. Which is a common problem.Replaced relay back in business just in time for Milton. Reviews were very helpful thank you for the people that posted them. Generator is 6 years old . We named her Jenny.

OEM replacement at a fraction of dealer cost. Which, after installation, I found I dodn't need but that's another story. Now I have a spare. Generac makes great equipment but the shops charge top dollar and don't keep inventory. Get the parts on Amazon faster than the dealer can deliver and save a few bucks as well.

Have a 6 month old 22kw generac model 6551 that crapped out. Had an error code 1505 - RPM sensor loss. Swapped this part out after ensuring my battery was fully charged, started right up. Service call was going to cost me $168. Pretty crappy for this generator to have issues after only having 10 hours on it. Fixed my generator the day before hurricane Harvey arrived, service company was going to come out 2 weeks later. Darn you generac. My 8yr old 6500watt Husky generator starts up on the first pull and doesn't give me any issues. Back to this part, it's got 5 starts on it and working the way it should. Shipping was fast. Ordering 4 spares!! Not that it matters, but I posted a pic of the new old one that failed.
