Love this tool!!
When you need to mark a spot for drilling, why not punch it so that the drill bit does not walk? This is an American made tool that works! The harder you pull it back to make the punch, the harder it will hit! Altho, I would make sure you are not about to use this tool on hardened steel as you may loose your point. I have multiples of this very tool! Love it!!

Better than automatic punches
This thing has help of for months now of regular use. I use it mostly on aluminum fabrication and it works well, easy to gauge about 1/2โ or less will make a decent hole to start drill bits, some of my peers had cheap automatic center punches break and always ask to borrow mine. Itโs simple, rugged, and works beautifully. I couldnโt recommend it more.

Much easier and more accurate than hammering
Works great and is simple to use. I love how I don't need to use a hammer in order to dimple my metal. I found that my punches are more accurate as there is significantly less motion behind this than hammering. I have only made 5 knives with this so far, and I dont harden my metal before punching, but it feels durable and has noy lost any of its point. Its also great because its small enough to fit easily in your pocket but still powerful enough to get the job done.

Great tool, but not for hardened steel
First of all, I will say one thing- this company STANDS BEHIND their products. I received the item above, and as a locksmith I needed a punch for hardened steel, and also removing door hinge pins. After testing it, I found that this "particular" model (while still great) didnt meet my needs. Why I will buy from them- the customer service is amazing. I contacted them over emails, explained what was going on, they not only addressed my issue, but did so in a way that I will tell all my locksmith buddies to try this tool out. Do yourself a favor, try this tool out

Where Has This Been All My Life?
I am in my mid 50's and had never seen this type of punch before I saw it being used in a YouTube video. I ordered one and set about learning to use it. You place the tip where you want to punch a dimple, then carefully pull back the spring loaded tip on the opposite end of the tool and let it snap back. If you need a deeper dimple, reposition the tip in the dimple you just made and repeat. Keep in mind that on steel or other harder materials, this tool creates a starter dimple that can be made deeper with a regular punch and hammer. There is different punch point angle on each end so you can select which one will work best. You can also modulate the depth of the dimple by simply pulling the spring back a little less before you let go. I've used it on hardened steel, mild steel, aluminum, UHMW plastic and both hard and soft wood and it worked great on all of them.

Good punch!
As an aircraft mechanic I use this punch when doing sheet metal repairs. Itโs great for most applications, but can be a bit of a task to keep on the mark while pulling the spring back and releasing, just takes a little practice. To be fair, automatic center punches are the same way. I definitely recommend though!

Inovative
Just an awesome tool I use it all the time and love it. Looks like it will hold up longer than the traditional tool. Great value for the Money.

It's a quality tool
This is a great center punch for precision. The steel is hard, and you can use the other pointy side to make indentations in softer materials or like me abuse it as a punch for punching out pins of hinges.
