## Questions & Answers

**Q: Have anyone else had issue with Stereo tracks not playing well using this adapter? Only some tracks seem to be cancelling left and right out!**
A: The only reason it would do that is if the stereo tracks were recorded with one channel being 180 degrees out of phase (mirror image). Where I have seen this before is when amateur video producers use a XLR-1/8" adapter to connect a mic to their video camera to record dialog, but they use the wrong type of adapter cable. Most consumer camcorders have stereo mic inputs but a single microphone is mono, so you need to use a unbalanced "mono" 1/8 adapter.  If you use the balanced "stereo" adapter, the audio on right and left channels cancels out.

**Q: Can this be used in reverse? trying to send signal from mixer into laptop to record.**
A: That’s exactly what I use it for.  Out of a board to a Sling Studio Hub mic jack.

**Q: What's the difference between this interface(w/o ground lift) and the plain 3.5mm to xlr cable?**
A: The plain 3.5mm to xlr cable will not be impedance matched keeping the signal at consumer line level.  The 3.5mm to xlr cable also will not protect the source from phantom power generated by the mixing console, which could severely damage or destroy the source (the source being an IPOD, laptop or any MP3 style player).  Using the 3.5mm to xlr cable can also allow for noise to enter the system.
The LTIBLOX will combine and  balance the left and right signal of the 3.5mm source to a mono low impedance signal as well as keeping phantom power from being able to damage the source.  This will help keep noise from entering the system as well.

**Q: Can i plug this to  a smart phone and record the audio?**
A: Get a digital recorder. Sony makes a nice one.
