They're fairly robust, and easy to adjust/install. Probably not going to stop a determined thief (nothing will), but they aren't getting through them without making a lot of noise and spending a lot of time. Likely they'll choose to move along to the next house. As others have said, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THE SUPPLIED SCREWS. For some reason, they supplied "security screws", which are made to screw in but not out, and due to the design of these window bars, probably couldn't ever be removed at all without destroying the window frame.
