The barrier between the main compartment and the side compartment ripped after about 18 months (I admit to jamming it), and the bag overall made it to 2015 until one of the shoulder mounts finally ripped to the last third of stitching. It would have probably lasted another year. I stuffed, tossed, checked, carried-on, and beat that bag for many years, so of course I'd try Rockland products again! This bag has a much more robust build than that first bag I purchased. The fabric separating the two side compartments is thicker, and the stitching is far more robust. The two front compartments are great for stuffing the cell phone and keys before walking through airport security. Rockland has upgraded to metal clips and loops. I take this bag to practice four times per week, and have taken a half dozen flights with it since the date of purchase. 19 to 21 inches is a nice carry-on size. The top handles are quite strong. It comes in many patterns. Great for short trips as a carry-on. A good gym bag.
