Works as expected
I have recently learned about using gel medium. It works great for collage work I have done and as a top cost in a cross-hatch pattern over acrylic paint - then topped it off with varnish for several of my pieces. Adding gel on top of your paintings give them a deep richness. easy to usem high quality, you will love this so buy more than you think you need. 5-stars.

Will purchase again when I run out!
I used this to attempt a photo transfer using a laser printed color photo (reverse it before printing!) to wood. It worked beautifully! I could not be more pleased with it. I was unsure how much medium I would need in order to transfer the photo, but it was not much at all. I will say that there is some discrepancy in instructions for how to do this... some people say to apply to the picture and then place it on the wood and others say to apply the medium to the wood and then apply the paper on top of it. I tried both because I got a little overzealous in my sanding when it was dry... I did better applying mine to the wood, waiting overnight for it to dry thoroughly, covering the piece with a damp cloth for about 20 minutes, then using wet fingertips to remove the paper. I did need to stop and remoisten several times to get all the paper off, but when you start seeing the picture, you need to work more carefully. I ended up sanding the edges a little, staining it, then sealing it. It was a gift for a friend and it was a big hit. PROS: Lots of medium in this package so you can do lots of projects with it. Non-toxic, no fumes or stink, easy to use. CONS: Be careful not to apply too much as it is hard to get off when it oozes from under the edges of the paper. Conclusion: I'll be back to buy it again when I run out. It was a good purchase and fits my 1/$1 rule (which means I'll get at least one use for every dollar I spent on it!).

It’s kinda thick in a good way
I bought this to mix color changing pigments. I like it because the consistency of thick. The drying time is quick with thin layers and the size is a great value for the money spent.

Great Product
I am a mixed media artist and had been looking for a medium that would give the flat, thick acrylic paints that I love so much an opaque, glossy sheen. I also wanted something that would show my brush strokes after it dried, and this product worked perfectly. I absolutely love it. I use it as a medium for water based paints as well as a glossy sealer for all types of paintings and mixed media pieces. If you are a beginner artist and are looking to try some different mediums, I suggest you start with one of the Liquitex products. They are easy to mix with water based paints, and you don't need to use much at all, so you play around with different combinations and techniques until you find a method that works for you. Great product and comes in several different sizes, as well as light, medium, and heavy, and matte or glossy.

Does what it's supposed to...
I bought this to do image transfers to fabric. It's OKAY; But while this was in shipping, I learned you can use modpodge to do the transfers with too! WHAT!? So I tried both with inkjet prints (you should definitely use laser prints for most projects; but I was experimenting). And because some people seem confused between laser and inkjet, I'll explain it. LASER printers are what places like kinkos, Office Depot, and big offices use to make lots of copies for really cheap. The prints will be a bit shiny anywhere there is color, and because the printed parts are ON the paper, they can also come off of the paper (which is what this transfer method does). INKJET printers are what most of us have at home. They use ink cartridges. The ink gets absorbed into the paper, and that's how we get a print. These are not best for transferring because you have to leave some of the paper behind; the image doesn't "come off" like it does with a laser print. YES, you can use inkjet prints, but you will have a much better result (and less of a pain in the butt) if you use laser. I actually like the way the modpodge worked better; the image is brighter and less of the photo came off in the "rubbing" phase. It also seems to be stuck down better, even though I used the same amount of product (or at least very close to it) for each. Both remained very flexible, and I would have no problem using either one for a design on a throw pillow. The container is pretty wide considering the size, so it's easy to just dip a sponge brush in there. The lid is also nice and grippy, so it's easy to get off, even if you are notorious for accidentally gluing lids shut -.- I DO like the liquitex, and it did perform, so it wasn't a total waste of money. So it gets 4 stars. But I bought it and didn't ACTUALLY need it. AND it didn't perform as well as the stuff I already had on hand. I can see myself using it for lots of other things, too. But if you are getting it for image transfers and already have modpodge on hand... maybe not the best use of $8.

Greatest thing since sliced bread
Greatest thing since sliced bread. Used it to transfer laser pictures to wood. Make sure you use a good brush and apply vertically and horizontally with complete (but not too much) coverage. And make sure you let it completely dry (about 12 hours). Even when the paper wrinkles up a bit, the picture still comes out great. I've seen other people warn about not wiping too hard to get the paper off. I've never had an issue with that....this stuff is tuff.
