How does this compare to meguiar's ultimate compound as far as aggressiveness. i don't want it to affect my clear coat

The user affects the clear coat. It does the same job in half the time. If you are experienced you can put out twice Volume. Very aggressive. 1200 grit wet sanding quickly disappears with this Product. We have 13 techs and knock out hundreds of panels every week. If you don’t have the pressure stick with the Meguiars.

How does this compare to 3m as far as clean up, does it get really hard after it drys?

I have used many 3m products over the years I very good luck with this compound I used it on my boats to restore shine to gelcoat. You ask if it get hard when it drys this is rubbing compound you buff it with a buffer it is not wax

Could this substitute for diamond paste on the polishing wheel of a grinder to bevel glass?

Do not believe this product is hard enough to polish glass. It works very well on paint and plastic though.

Inherited my dad's car, sanded/buffed off a layer of grime but it has swirlies galore. Everything looks normal when wet. Is this my last step?

Malco Tru Grit Is NOT a final polish. It is an abrasive rubbing compound to get oxidation and dead paint off the cars surface. You need to follow up your sanding/buffing with finer grits or polishing compounds to get the swirl marks out. Congrats on inheriting your dad’s car. Take good care of it.
