My kid has an average sized half height locker (the kind where there are lockers on top and bottom of the row) and this fit perfect. It was a little fiddly to install but not bad. Expanding the shelf is easy, collapsing it is not as easy, but not too bad. Two of the rubber "feet" (on the sides) fell off during install (which at first I didn't notice) and so at first it seemed very flimsy. But after putting the feet back on it was pretty sturdy; Good for putting smaller items on.
