Lasts a long time! 5+++ years
I have a Taylor and use a Taylor case I bought these 5 years ago and only replaced them because they so old I was afraid they may leak. My guitar teacher took them for his humidor. No kidding these work amazingly well I tracked the humidity and it stayed perfect. A must own for any guitar owner

Perfect Hydrating Tool, Easy!
Works Amazing! My custom tele neck, was shrunk, cold winter in a basement with only a gig bag. Placed two bags inside my gig bag for a month, kept it closed the entire time. Opened it up, the frets were like perfect, no sharp edges, the guitar was like brand new when I received it. I'll utilize these always. Just be patient, and keep the case / or gig bag shut for a while, and presto, it hydrates! So easy to use, and that's a huge benefit as well.

Value priced, meets or exceeds description, works as advertised and is a value.
I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

These things keep your guitar in to shape
A guitar needs a distinct level of humidity to play well, and to stay in tune, in wet weather or dry. Aside from keeping the best tones, humidity is needed to keep the wood stable. A dry guitar will give you cracks and splits, and costly repairs. You can buy a number of costly devices, but the guitar string makers, D’Addario, having given us these bags of a moist substance that do the same thing. If the climate is humid, so is the guitar. In atmospheres that make the tone woods dry, the humidity is absorbed by the wood. I started just to try. A week later, in winter, I could feel and hear the humidity rise. The sound was better, and also easier to play. I am convinced, now, that it has made my treasured guitar remain in good shape for a long time. Once you try, you may do what I did, ask Amazon to send you four different packages in a year. Near the end of one set of moist bags, you feel them being brittle. The next $18 moist bags arrive on time, and the proper moisturizing continues.

Repaired my cracked finish!!!
I live in Albuquerque, NM. I have a one of a kind hand crafted wooden acoustic and after finally getting it back from my ex who has just used the sponge occasionally when he remembered, there was an obvious crack in the finish that broke my heart more than he did. I am lucky no more damage was really done with the dryness of the desert. With that said, I read reviews and bought humidipaks. I've gotten almost a year out of mine, although around 6 months with the first set since it was SO DRY in the case initially, all I know is that I can no longer see the crack in the finish; I can still feel it slightly, but regardless, these packets were a godsend, and extremely affordable via amazon. For people who feel they only last a few weeks, I would assume they are being used in a floppy case not secured from the outside environment, or just completely exposed to the environment, and that's a big humidification task for a small pack! I'm actually going to try the rehydration tricks listed to get more life out of mine...although seems silly since I get almost a year out of them! I feel like it's a crime because the least I can do is support the company once a year! I will never again take my guitar's humidity levels for granted!
