Learning Resources Three Bear Family Sorting Bowls

I know a lot of people are upset by how 'shallow' these bowls are but as an educator these bowls are perfect for children developing new skills such as sorting by color, number, shape, size. They are also very good for limiting the amount of fluid/sensory materials when playing in a home setting. My child is limited from using too much colored water or oatmeal by the size of the bowl and it helps to contain the size of the mess in my house. The shallowness of the bowls also helps with learning to use scoops and tweezers because it contains a small amount of the materials and allows for repetative practice.

These colored bowls are so versatile! Color recognition and sorting! Even eating snacks that match the bowl color! I am able to find an activity for every theme I do in my daycare with these bowls. Definitely buy!

I use these with both my 4 year old and 2 year old, just in different ways. We only have the baby bear counters right now, but the other members of the "3 bear family" are on their way! It is a task in itself for my 2 year old to sort the bears out by color, but he loves doing it! I have my 4 year old sort them into their corresponding bowls for use with the pattern cards, just so it's easier to find when she needs them. Plus, I figure it's still a good skill to continually work on. I love that I don't really have to give them much guidance (not because I don't want to help) because it really seems to help build their self-esteem and self-confidence. They are so proud when they have finished, and have "done it all by themselves!"

As you can see from my photos, I bought these bowls for sorting and counting activities and they are working great! I also purchased their tweezers set.

For some reason when I looked at the picture, I thought the bottoms would be rounded. They aren't and have flat bottom and the sides meet up at an angle. I bought these with the "TRANSPARENT COUNTERS 250-PK 3/4 6" I wasn't sure but the colors matched up perfectly. My 2 and 4 year old likes handling them and sorting them in the bowls. Bowls have lots of other uses too so I am happy with my purchase. I don't know of these bowls are food safe but my boys ask to eat their chips in them.

These are great for teaching colors and how to count use them with the colored vehicles. My son has a blast when we work with them.

these are just plastic sorting bowls, not really deep. Matches the other learning resource counting toys. My 22m old love to stack them and put them out and sort her farm toys in them by color. I would recommend buying them along with the sorter toys, especially for the little kids who are primarly sorting by color since it matches so well.

Nice colors, they look very bright, not faded at all. Perfect shape for keeping the figurines in. We preferred getting the Learning Resources ones shipped from another country because in our own there were none left in stock! Only cheaper looking alternatives.

Bought for grand child. Colours match the 3 bears and look as described in photos.
