I am an Exterior Electrician and ordered a bunch of these for my guys to use out in the field. It did not work on our Exterior panels nor on our Transformers the first, second or third time. The bits gave out and dulled as soon as they started drilling. We ended up purchasing high end step-bits we've ordered before and they worked well. I did a trial with these bits and ended up short on the winning end. **Q: Drilling a 1 1/4" hole in a stainless steel sink? Any suggestions?** A: The best and cleanest option to punch a hole in a stainless sink is with a hydraulic Greenlee hole punch. They are expensive to own. You might want to see if you can rent a set. **Q: What size is the shank** A: Hi Randy,The 3/16"-1/2"(six step drill) and the 1/8"-1/2"(thirteen step drill) both have 1/4" shank. The 1/4"-3/4"(nine step drill) has a 3/8" shank.
