Organic Bake at Home Sourdough Bread

Being a San Francisco native - and reading the other reviews.. I have to say, I think this bread is delicious. Shelf stable for 4 months in my pantry.. Good flavor.. Not as sour as what we have here in the stores but we have strains of sourdough starter that are 100 years old in the bay area.. .. but I like having 12 loaves of bake and eat bread in my pantry thats fresh for at least 4 months. 1 lb loaves so I'm unsure what the complaint about the loaf size is about. 5 dollars a loaf is reasonable for me for storable bread.. that has no preservatives.

My wife had just returned from a trip to San Francisco and a new appreciation for sourdough bread. I found this at the grocery store after my wife had tried and rejected every prepackaged sourdough as “just not as good as San Francisco makes it.” We LOVED the fresh baked bread and it was ready with absolutely no additional preparation in less than 20 minutes! Just heat the oven, open the package, put the loaf in the oven and wait. I know that sounds like it came from an infomercial but it’s the absolute truth. We ordered a case and, since it didn’t have to be frozen or refrigerated, it didn’t even take up space in our pantry. I don’t write reviews often, and give five stars even less but this bread is easily the best thing I’ve ever bought on Amazon.

Loaves are too small to make nice sandwiches, they are full size and partly cooked. Just heat and eat. They do not get bigger. Kind of dense, expected a lighter bread. Very costly. Unfortunately, there aren't many options on Amazon that I found.

Bakes nicely but does not have authentic flavor. is NOT sour enough.

This is the best sourdough bread we have found. It's organic and you finish baking it in your own oven so it comes out hot with a crispy, crunchy crust and soft middle. Pair it with truffle butter and man, it's sooooo good. My only complaint is Essential Bakeries does not ship to my locale but hopefully that will change in the near future but until then I will continue to order through Amazon.

Plain and simple--this is fantastic bread! Easy to store for extended periods, before you heat your oven and "bake" it for approx 15 minutes. This is an organic sourdough loaf that you might only be able to get in France or Italy, where the cuisine and the people KNOW THEIR BREAD! This is bread for bread lovers, the true real thing! What more can I say! I love really good bread, which is almost impossible to find in an organic sourdough form, which is exactly WHAT YOU WANT!
