This potassium hydroxide product worked well to demonstrate the decomposition of water into hydrogen and oxygen gas through electrolysis. Anyone handling chemicals like this should know to always add this product to the water and not the reverse because the possibility of "flashing" the solution explosively. If I need any more in the future, I would not hesitate to buy this product again.

I always use this to make my soap paste that I use in making liquid soap. I have always used this brand ever since I started making liquid soap many years ago. It is the best price, the quality is great and I trust the company. I believe it is the purest grade you can find. It is food grade which means it has the lowest parts per million of heavy metal impurities in it. Being made in the U.S. is what I look for also.

I’ve used products from this company many times. This was my first time using their lye “flakes”. It did not work for me with my soap making. The soap would not trace using the hot or cold process methods. I believe the calculation must have been off, which make no sense as all ingredients are weighed. I switched back to the grandulars and no problem. This is a great product. But learn how to use it ahead of time.

High quality and worked out fine in my liquid soap! I did not get my first order on time (it got lost in the void between UPS and the post office "smartpost" isn't so smart) and wrote in to them and they immediately sent me out another, free of charge and via a more expensive shipping method that takes USPS out of the equation, and told me that if the first one surfaced to go ahead and keep it. I did eventually receive the second one and I have no idea if I'll be able to even make enough liquid soap in my lifetime to use up all this lye but between a high quality product and high quality customer service (as well as really fast shipping turnaround time if you take smartpost out of the mix) I couldn't be happier. I wish there were another star to give. Top notch here.

Using this for a HHO setup, works great.. do note that if you mix this in a gallon jug of distilled water the bottom of the jug will/can get very hot, almost to the point of softening the plastic.. DO NOT close the jug and shake it!! Also, do wear gloves and eye protection, this stuff WILL eat your skin or blind you if splashed on you.

Excellent potassium hydroxide for soap making. Safely packed in sturdy, thick plastic container. It has child-proof cap and not easy to be opened. As per the MSDS available online, the purity is around 90%.
