Some chips the flat sides stick together, so if making cookies it might cause extra chocolatey spots, but all chips are very shiny and fresh. When opening the package all I could smell was cocoa ! Review: Technically baking chips. Practically a snack addiction in a Mason jar. - I want to be upfront with you: I have never baked with these. I cannot speak to their performance in cookies, brownies, or any other application that involves an oven. What I can tell you is that they go directly from the bag into a Mason jar on my counter, and from that Mason jar directly into my mouth, and they are exceptional at that specific use case.
