Seems Indestructible and Powerful - Adjust it Properly
My previous amplifier was a tube amp. But I burned something out (not a tube, I checked those) and I needed something that was less complicated than my old set up. My old set up was a tube amp for my front Klipches and a Class D amp for the back ones. I also have a 400 watt subwoofer. I used to feed those amps from my computer, which outputs to a discrete DAC. This is for my 10x10 home office, by the way. So I know it's overkill. So anyway - I got the MAMP5 and used 4 channels to bi-amp my front Klipches (these are the ones you can do that on). Then I just did normal 2 channel to the back. I used pre-out to go to my sub. Then I messed around with levels and stuff on the amp and on my sub. Those blue dials on the amp - don't turn them up past about 12 o'clock. Use the little black one on the bottom right to control overall level. The blue dials are just to set "ratio." And you keep them at less than 12 because you want to leave some headroom for loud things in your music. If you hear the fan - that's because you did something wrong. For example, I can make the fan come on by turning the blue knobs to almost zero, then cranking the main volume knob. Because the blue knobs are near zero, there's almost no sound coming from the amp. But it's still working hard. That's because I think the blue knobs basically just work like resisters and the black knob controls the actual amplifier. SO - put the blue knobs near 12 o'clock and the little knob at 9, or 12 if you want loud loud. I think if you turn the bass or treble up too high, that will also trigger the fans prematurely. So it you hear the fan, mess around with the volume & tone knobs. So what does it sound like? My original major in college was audio recording engineer, I used to do sound in a club, and I have done it for live bands, so I think I have decent ears. 1) It's "trebly" - so turn down the treble. This could also be me going from tube to solid state. Either way, turn the treble down a little. 2) bass needs to be turned up a little. 3) Soundstage is good. Instruments and voices appear in 3D space about like I would expect. 4) It doesn't sound grainy. That was my big worry. 5) It's loud AF! If you adjust it right - you actually are getting 50 clean watts per channel. So with me biamping the fronts, I am getting 100 watts to each of those and 50 to each of the rears. These are efficient speakers and I can drive them to earsplitting level with almost no distortion. 6) The remote works, but only controls volume for the bluetooth, USB and card reader and FM inputs. It won't control volume for aux or anything else that is plugged into the back with RCAs. 7) When it does distort, it distorts the way that you would expect from a class-D (I don't think it's A/B for this price). So it's like clean, clean, clean, then holy moly. It's not linear. The fact they put in a loud fan and super ventilated the case tells me this is primarily intended for something like a retail store or a bar. My impression is that it won't prematurely fail. I think it's worth the money.

Donner Bluetooth capable stereo.
This is 2nd one of these I bought. They’re a good inexpensive Bluetooth stereo that sounds fine if you’re not looking for expensive high tech stereo. Put one in garage & this one out on patio in pergola.

Nice for the price
This little amp is not the highest quality but it's good quality, especially for the low price. The one downgrade I've found so far, which I attribute to quality control, is the channel selector knob is slightly misaligned so it actually seems to point to the next selection rather than the one it's on but I can live with that. It also seems rather choosy about usb drives in that I first used an old one I had that worked fine for loading music with my Mac but the amp wouldn't play (as soon as I inserted the drive, it changed out of USB mode)--and the manual doesn't say what format they should be in but I assume it's FAT(32). When I purchased some new thumb drives and loaded music onto one, it played fine. Another feature that may matter to some is that there really are a limited number of inputs, labeled for DVD, CD, Mic and Aux but you can use them for whatever you want. You can also do as I did and buy an inexpensive audio selector switch (I got one with 4 inputs) to jump it to as many inputs as you need. I notice other comments here had some difficulty with the bluetooth but it worked fine for me, easily paring with my iPhone. I'm also impressed with the base and treble controls which seem to have a wide range. Also, some comments talk about the FM radio running out of channels (it takes 50) before reaching the higher frequencies when doing the automatic channel search in setup. I live in downtown San Francisco so we should have lots of FM stations but I ran the channel search with no antenna hooked up in order to lock in only the strongest channels and it reached the 109 mHz band before running out. Quite a few of those it locked onto were mostly static but when I hooked up an antenna (which you have to buy separately) a number of them came through loud and clear enough to be useful.

Maybe I can clear up some of this wiring confusion.....
Not sure what product other reviewers received, but pictured is the unit wiring that I got as of 2/8/24. First I tried the bluetooth and I walked out of the room and it played flawlessly so range was not a issue for me. Now for the bad: One would think that since it says "stereo" when you hook up channel A to 2 speakers they would actually be stereo but they are NOT! It is mono. <--this might not be a big deal for most depending on their use, however the only way to get stereo outputs is to use 2 separate channels aka (left & right) In doing this is makes it useless for 4 zones in my opinion. And who wants to control volume left to right anyway (BTW this is why you see no Balance knob) I ended up returning it due to this, who wants a "mono" application, I needed to control 4 stereo different zones, so if that is what you are looking for don't even bother ordering it. I will say however I almost kept it for the bluetooth alone and it does sound a lot better than most older expensive amps. <--surprising good sound and seems to be quality but in the amp world the only way to tell is with time. I hope this helps cut down some confusion on this device and keeps some from making my mistake :) I consider myself above average in wiring amps/DJ booths due to my past so believe me I didn't mis-wire it. It just didn't do what I needed it for :)

Great bang for buck for basic receiver/amp with and ok bluetooth range
The amplifier works great for my setup. We bought a new house that had in-wall speakers but no amp or terminated wiring. This unit handled it perfectly—three groups of two speakers (six total), and it powered them without issue. Just note: while the amp supports up to 8 speakers, it pairs them into stereo groups, so you really get only 2 true "zones" you can independently turn on/off. For example, if you wire the left speaker of Group A and the right of Group C, you’ll need to use both knobs to fully mute that zone. It’s a little unintuitive if you're expecting more zone control. I’d recommend studying the wiring diagram in their product images before setting it up—once you see it, you’ll understand the grouping logic. It wasn't a deal breaker for us, but it’s worth knowing ahead of time. The Bluetooth could be better but it's good enough. My only loss of connection is when I go outside to my patio which is downstairs and in the back yard. Approximately 50' or so and through a couple walls. Separately, love that It has multiple input types for mics, aux, and even has some basic EQ knobs. Great bang for buck IMO!

Lasted less than a year...
I bought this receiver as a way to save some money on a replacement receiver I was using for an old set of 5.1 speakers on my home computer. The original 5.1 dvd player/receiver lasted nearly 20 years. This unit worked great for a while, but if you had audio playing, you could hear the unit (maybe fans?) power up within the receiver. When you hit pause, you could hear it ramp down suddenly, too. About a month or two ago there started to be a low-hum in the speakers that I didn't notice initially, but eventually did. I bought this on August 30, 2024 according to my Amazon invoice. It didn't make it to even August 1, 2025 before it started acting up. Now it still works for with a hum...sometimes... There is often a pop from within the receiver and all audio output, including the hum from the speakers stops before it starts again a while later and then repeats this trend. These are not high output or high impedance speakers. They're not pushing a lot of power either, with all knobs set to about 60% since I control the volume from the keyboard. I can get it to work after power cycling a bunch of times and waiting to hear if the hum starts and then a click or just the hum. I'm not happy with this receiver as it was not abused and only did very light duty for a short time before giving up. Would not recommend unless you're in a bind for a short term solution. It supposedly has a 1 year warranty, but there is no way to contact the company about the issue unless maybe through Amazon...

Great price for a great product!
I needed to replace my 41 y.o. Kenwood reciever. As a musician, I own a few effects pedals made by Donner, so I was confident in selecting this brand. I was not disappointed, either. The ability to control the volume on each set of speakers independently was the key factor in my choice. I'm using 2 vintage Klipsch Heresy II for front speakers, 2 Klipsch R-41SA Dolby Atmos rear speakers and a 10" Kicker center subwoofer that I built an enclosure for. The sound quality and balance throughout the room is quite remarkable. Having FM, BT and a USB connection just adds to the multiple configurations available. Overall, I'm very pleased with the amplifier and would highly recommend this product to anyone with a discerning ear.

It’s an amp with 8 speaker capacity
Seems to be a fairly good simple unit would of been nice if it came with the appropriate plug but that’s neither here nor there
