BLACK+DECKER 1.7 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator, Energy Star, BCRK17W, White

Since I live in a townhouse and was getting tired of going downstairs every time I wanted a snack or something to drink, I decided to purchase a mini fridge for my bedroom. I spent a significant amount of time conducting searches and reading reviews here on Amazon; and just when I was on the verge of giving up, this model appeared in my recommendations. It's 100 percent what I was looking for--it doesn't make a lot of noise while running (low hum); and in addition to being the perfect size to fit on an end table, the spaciousness of the interior far exceeded my expectations. (The glass shelf is also a nice touch). The highest temp setting is 7; however, since I don't like drinking liquids that are TOO cold, I have it set to 4, and the chill is perfect for my tastes. (Per the instructions, it's best NOT to overload it, because doing so will affect the overall temperature.) I also specifically wanted a fridge that came with a freezer, and it's just big enough for six Klondike bars. Since the rack for the bottom shelf of the door isn't attached, it falls off REALLY easily; so in order to save yourself some aggravation, use a little Gorilla Glue to secure it in place.

Works great, I use it upstairs to keep baby bottles cold overnight and water for the wife and kids. The thermostat does make a quiet tink regularly. It would be nice if that was quieter. The compressor is barely audible.

The description states that this unit will cool to 32 degrees and includes an icetray for the freezer unit leading you to believe it can make ice. This simply is not the case. I followed all the instructions and the troubleshooting guides to no avail. This unit will not cool any lower than 39 degrees (obviously not cold enough to freeze water). Also, the unit is not very efficient at cooling so when you open the door, you must remove your food/drink quickly and close the door immediately if you want the temperature to remain cool inside (even so, expect the temp to rise several degrees just opening and closing the door). I understand this is a small unit and keeping the door open is never good for any refrigerator, but to have the temperature rise so quickly and take so long to drop the few degrees it went up makes this unit something you would not want to get into more than once or twice a day, and then, your food/drinks are chilled, but not really cold. Downgraded this rating to a single star. Unable to acquire any adequate help and refrigerator will not cool below 39 degrees (maybe 38 after all 'help' instructions followed). This is ridiculous. STRONGLY suggest - do NOT buy. After months of use and many attempts at getting help, will throw away this unit and purchase something else. It is useless as a refrigerator. Best you can hope for is a non-portable cooler which is not what I bought. Can not stress enough the importance for folks to NOT buy this unit. It simply does not work and there is no support.

Perfect size for my classroom- compact but still holds drinks and snacks easily. I was worried about noise based on other reviews, but mine is very quiet and not distracting at all. I’ve only had it a few days, but so far it works great and I’m really happy with it!

Absolutely the quietest compact fridge I've ever owned. It is so quiet, I forget its even there. Design is sleek, looks & works great in my office. Amending my previous review. The biggest issue with the fridge is the inside lower bar tends to come loose if put too much bottles on the shelf as the insert is not long enough to hold it in place. Second annoying thing was I need to keep the temperature low enough to keep the freezer compartment from "melting" resulting in dripping water all over the items directly below it.

I LOVE this compact fridge. I got Black & Decker because I was pleased with their products in the past. This time I was spot on to do so. It makes NO noice at all! I have to go put my hand in to see if its cool to know its on. LOL. Perfect size to hold my bottles of water, butter, and creme cheese, etc. It's very attractive in stainless, and our guests admire it. We got this when our regular kitchen fridge was being repaired, to save some food. What a life saver! It won't really make ice, but if we put ice already made in, it keeps it frozen. Also, the outside top and sides are cool, not hot, which I like. I highly recommend and would buy again in a heartbeat.

I just received this product today. Came very fast to my surprise, however, it's not working. I plugged it in the wall, and did everything correctly that was stated in the manual. After a few hours, nothing inside the fridge is cold, and stays room temperature which confirmed that it's not on. If there is something I can do to make it work please help me, let me know, otherwise I took a loss on this one, and wasted my money. It's not an electrical problem in my house, as everything works, so I don't know why the thing won't turn on... EDIT: I just got my replacement today and it’s working. Turns out at first i recieved a defective one. So hopefully all is well now, and this thing stays working, which I think it should!

After reading customer reviews and answers to questions, I was a bit concerned that the unit might be damaged in transit or might not work since there is no option to return this Black and Decker BCRK!&W compact refrigerator. Yes, I took a chance and was dismayed to see the box arrive with a small hole in the cardboard box, but fortunately, the fridge was well packed and suffered no damage. ... I took the fridge out of the box, set it on the counter and plugged it in. Worked! Instructions said to set it on 3, which I did, and later had to change it to 4. The adorable tiny ice tray (included) easily fits in the tiny freezer - at setting 3, only half of the ice tray turned into ice, then at setting 4, ice formed in whole ice tray. ... I haven't yet used the holders inside the door but have noticed that it doesn't take much bumping into them that they will fall down. Sitting on the counter, the fridge slid around too easily so I placed 4 small pieces of slip resistant shelf liner underneath so now it sits where it sits. ... I have had the refrigerator for only 2 weeks. I don't expect it to last for years, but hopefully will get a year or more out of it. Not perfect, but bottom line, I do like this little fridge and it fits my purposes. I would give it the full 5 stars if not for the not being able to return it if something is wrong with it. I was lucky, so far. Edit: forgot to say, VERY QUIET. Silent when not running, then when running, makes a very small refrigerator noise.

It's quiet and my drinks and food are always cold.

When I opened the box, I noticed that the mini fridge was upside down. The box & shipping label were in the upright position but the fridge was not. Im not sure if this is normal but the mini fridge is working fine so far. Its quiet and it even has a freezing area for ice cubes. This was a warehouse product so it has some minor cosmetic imperfections.

This "fridge" is cheap and great for storing some drinks or a lunch. However I wouldn't recommend for storing perishables as in my experience the internal temperature tends to stick around 7 C regardless of thermostat setting. Anything on the top shelf will get a lot of condensation from the cooling element. Be sure to dry the included drip-tray often!

It is perfect for our needs

Noisy. Not cool enough. Terrible design, almost no space inside with bad drip tray position, leaks.
