Hitachi CPS0017 Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor

This camshaft worked perfectly for my engine rebuild. The fit was exact, and installation went smoothly with no modifications needed. After doing a little bit of research, I believe that the Hitachi sensor is the direct factory replacement for the Nissan frontier. After installing it, and clearing the P0335 and P0340 codes the truck runs like it should and the codes have not come back. Since this sensor is kind of a pain to get to, I recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting the quality Hitachi unit.

Remove the front passenger wheel and pull back the plastic wheel liner (use a bungee to hold it back to the grill) Look for the rubber boot with the Triangle on it... The bolt is 10mm. If you struggle with the table to disconnect it. Remove the bolt first to rotate to reach the clip. This part works great to replace the oem piece.

I was a bit skeptical when I ordered these Hitachi Crankshaft Sensors, I bought them used because it was half the price.. When they arrived, prior to installing, I double checked the sensors and noticed that the serial number on them does not match the Hitachi Brand's Original Serial Number (CPS0017). Instead, this one that I received said something else (HOL1122). So now, I'm not entirely sure if these are the original Hitachi or an aftermarket that the previous buyer had returned back to Hitachi.. now I don't know how long these will last. I'm hoping I got a real Hitachi sensor.

Fit perfectly on a 2010 Nissan Frontier 4.0L and got rid of quite a few codes created by the engine shutting down from the old part.

I changed it myself on my 17 frontier 4.0 and it is working great, about 6 months and running smooth
