The holder strength and also hold their form against moisture weight and heat.Research seems to show that the palm leaves are not harvested but are leaves that have fallen and actually help support additional trade.So, no trees were harmed in the production of this product, it helps supporting economy, and in my opinion they are stronger and more versatile than either the Styrofoam or the plastic coated paper plates that are currently availableWhat could be better. We received so many compliments (and questions) about them. A woman working our party was from Sri Lanka and immediately recognized what they were from her childhood told me all the ways they used the palm trees at home. I understand they are compostable, and although I would not do it, it appears with care, may be somewhat reusable.
